Few publishers usually ask to provide the full length image of the western blot membrane (in supplementary). If this is that case, how should someone report the results, when they cut their membrane into multiple sections to simultaneously probe for different proteins? I find cutting the membrane into pieces to be quite efficient process, but is it acceptable?

Thanks for your reply. Yes it is possible to take the full length image but that defeats the whole purpose of cutting the membrane into pieces to probe simultaneously for multiple proteins and also it save antibodies.
What the publishers ask for is a full-length image of the blot in the migration (i.e. vertical) direction. This is to show that the reader gets a full image of all the bands reacting with the antibody. Whether you use another part of the gel/blot to probe for other antigens is of no importance in this respect.
