A recent study shows that even herd immunity does not work in controlling corona virus in most effective manner. Rather it is the mask that is the use of universal face masks work most effectively. The study shows if some one who is sick wears a mask it blocks out 90% of the virus when talking and 74% of the virus when cough . It is most preventive when some one is healthy and wears face mask. Along with masking, physical isolation does work broadly and tracing, tracking, testing and treating are the other best possible ways to get a handle on it without lock downs.

I believe that physical distancing, the mask and hand hygiene are the 3 key points to fight the virus. Each of these parameters can be declined in different aspects. For example, the surgical mask protects others more than the wearer while the others like FFP2 type protect both the wearer and others but it is more difficult to wear them for many hours. Perhaps, in certain contexts, a transparent face shield could be used more in conjunction with the surgical mask? Any caution that protects us, let us remember that it also protects our loved ones, especially if with particular pathologies and / or no longer very young. I leave it to the science and conscience of the individual to operate in the way they deem most appropriate.

The recommendation is for when you’re in public places where it’s difficult to maintain a 6-foot distance from others. This recommendation is in addition to continued physical distancing and proper hygiene practices.
Recommendations include:
- Wear cloth face masks in public settings, especially in areas of significant community-based transmission, such as grocery stores and pharmacies.
- Use cloth face masks rather than surgical masks or N95 respirators, as these critical supplies must be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders.
Can wearing a face mask protect against the 2019 coronavirus?
SARS-CoV-2 is transmitted from person to person via small respiratory droplets.
These are generated when a person with the virus exhales, talks, coughs, or sneezes. You can contract the virus if you breathe in these droplets.

precautions should be taken as for any other respiratory infection.
Most importantly: wash your hands regularly and properly.
Do you cough or sneeze? Do it in a tissue or in the crease of the elbow. Throw the tissue in a bin with a lid.
Avoid shaking hands or kissing.
Avoid close contact with sick people (keep a distance of at least 4 meters).
Stay home if possible.
Avoid touching your face with your hands as much as possible.

Yes, I agree. The mask greatly reduces the risk of SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) coronavirus infection and reduces the social transmission of the virus in society. The significantly reduced transmission rate of the Coronavirus also means slowing down the creation of new mutant variants of the virus. So it's important to wear face masks.

Along with social distancing and washing hands, face mask is most useful in avoiding the covid infection.
It is general observation that, due to continuous use of face mask, other infection are greatly reduced.
It depends on the type of protective mask, what kind of material it is made of, whether it is certified. Among other things, it also depends on whether it is a surgical mask (high level of protection) or made at home (different level of protection depending on the type of material). Helmets worn in place of masks usually provide a much lower level of protection than face masks.
