My experience says the only way to make lawmakers worry about something is to demonstrate them loss in net profit per annum which is based on the absence of species x. Even than we have an example of 'replacing' bees with manual pollination by human (what already happens in PRC).

But, I am sure life on earth will end one day include insects--honey bees may the first one to disappear from the world.
