Well, yes! Putting ourselves in the students' shoes is, if not golden, a necessary rule. Furthermore, Student-centered learning engages students in their own success—and incorporates their interests and skills into the learning process.

There has to be room for personality based teaching, rather than technical expertise-not going down but bringing students up
First; I think that student centered teaching is mainly for graduate students because their thesis is the most important requirement. Secondly; teachers who are not open to learn in classrooms cannot understand their students.
I think there are different aspects here as originally Student Centred teaching was intended for children and the greater equality of student/teacher relationship was and is a given. It is now more popular at higher levels as more disadvantaged students study for Masters, etc.
