I think Arts, Social Science, Science, Commerce, Agriculture, Engineering, Medicine, Technology and Management are the most preferred areas of higher studies in India.

A very important question and I think that the ranking of preferences is a indicator of the level of development or deterioration of the country. For example, in Iraq, medicine, pharmacy and engineering are at the top of preferences because job opportunities are guaranteed, while management, economics, agriculture and other scientific disciplines are neglected because there is no activity in the sectors that attract these disciplines

Trends vary according to research centers and colleges in all universities, such as those of modern research in the field of nanotechnology and molecular biology, the biggest obstacle remains funding issues

Agree with Dr Salam Jassim Hmood. In our country most of the graduates from high or secondary school in the disciple of science will go for first choice that would be Medicine where the highest grades would be placed for it. Then other medical sciences like Dentistry and Pharmacy. However there would others that preferred Engineering as well. So Medicine, Engineering, Dentistry and Pharmacy. Other disciplines become second or third priorities.

most of families in iraq push their children to study midicine, i was one of them but i choose what i want and study chemistry science
