Primarily Education/HRD is the key to any nation’s prosperity, not alone agriculture.

However, There may be many more factors.

I am not having much knowledge on this topic but I try to give the scenario of the agriculture in rural regions of Andhra Pradesh, India. I was born in a rural village where agriculture is the main and sometimes only profession for local inhabitants. They are producing rice, coconut and important vegetables& fruits. Over the years people mind set is changing due low prices for their products. So people simply shift over to other professions and neglecting the agriculture. Today their standard of living also improved. In so many villages, farmers are declaring crop holiday for agriculture due lack of good prices.

Agricultural products is one of the basic and essential products that any community needs to survive, without it it would be difficult to live.

Very interesting question! Sir, we know how people live in villages and countryside. They rely largely on farming. Their needs are very basic and wants are quite less. They don't shy away calling themselves being content and satisfied with their life as they have their fresh food and crops for future. This is prosperous life for them. Though contrary scenario is that of young generation. They want to earn more. Become something, as the global connectivity of internet and television has made them ambitious. Due to industrialization and urbanization the land and labour engaged in agricultural production is decreasing and therefore in developed countries the demand for agricultural based raw material and food is increasing. the developig countries are mostly based on agriculture. In India also 70% of the rural population depends on agriculture and 60% of land is covered by agriculture sector. The countries that are developed now once they were also had agricultural based economy. Developing countries can solve the problem of shortage of foreign currency by increasing the export of agriculutural base product. Agriculture sector can have a big role in improvement of national economy. For a country like India which is agriculture based, the policy makers should think over it in perspective of Indian farmers. Most of the decisions are made in AC rooms by the policy makers who have no concern with the agriculture. The poor condition of farmers can be improved when MSP of major crops should be reviewed and Govt. makes it sure that the produce of farmers should be procured at that MSP. Further, cost of cultivation should be reduced. there should be moral boost up of the farmers. More agro based industries should be established. Agricultural research should take into consideration the needs of farmers. Extension network should be improved.
