I am preparing Ni doped BT by sol-gel method. i dissolved Ni nitrate and barium acetate in acetic acid. in case of small quantity of Nickel nitrate it is dissolving properly but in case of high doping nothing is dissolving at all in acetic acid.
do i increase the volume of acetic acid? or i dissolve them individually? or any other suggestion?
I had a similar strange event many years ago trying to dissolve silver and palladium in nitric acid in the correct proportions for various alloys. All would dissolve successfully apart from one particular composition where there was always a significant amount of undissolved material (about 10 weight percent of the total). The problem was solved simply (but strangely) by dissolving the metals separately and then combining the solutions. Then I could make the required alloy composition. Worth a try.
