Ive only done this with Ecoli and the OD is ~1 at 600nm for 10^9 cells. But this is dependent on cell size so not all species are the same OD.
How do I find out the OD for 10^9 of other species?
Caroline, estimate your bacteria density with a Neubauer-Chamber (or hemocytometer) and correlate OD with cell count.
I am looking at the location of bacteria and fungi in the GI tract of isopods. I may do fluorescent in situ hybridisation but am looking for an easier stain. I was looking at acridine orange but I...
