hi everyone, the challenge in my project is to produce double emulsion with exactly the same material system but with different ratios of inner water to oil (silicone oil as o phase)as well as different interfacial areas .
futhermore, regardingthe subsequent raman measurment, it is necessary to make the interfaces invisible for the human eye and that by matching the refractive indicies of each phase .
how can i do it please ?
to match the refractive index to that of the silicone oil you would need to dissolve much of a suitable substance, e.g. sucrose. This will make viscosity of inner and outer phase high but would also counteract Ostwald ripening.
Your question brings almost no information about the system. For exemple the phase compactibilizer, should it be a amphiphilic polymer a short chain surfactant ?. Could the phases be entraped inside a block copolymer croslinked matrix. I believe that it is problably a techinical question involving a development of a comerctial product. Probably, this is why people keeps most of the details hide but in that case it is harder to be precise in the discution of a phenomena. By the way my questions brings to you a lot of answers actually. May be if you provide a better description of your system and about the problem you intend to solve, people could be more accurate into the answers and help you go furter.
