We have to dissolve GPNA (gamma-L-Glutamyl-p-nitroanilide; MW: 303.7) with proper solution. Datasheet notices this reagent is soluble in water (5 mg/ml), so we tried to dissolve this in water. However working concentration recommended by several articles is 3~5 mM. We must make high stock concentration.
In this case, How to make the reagent in high stock concentration?
Use organic solvents; check the stability at refrigerated and room temperature.
Use co-solvents like ethanol, methanol, acetonitrile, DMSO to improve solubility of drug in solvent and to make concentrated solvents. Alternatively you can use hydrotropic agents like benzoic acid, salicylic acid, citric acid, etc. if purpose of application is analysis of drug.
Provided that-
a) these additive solvents or hydoptropes do not interfere with analysis or required pupose
b) it is acceptable for the required purpose
c)it is economic
