If you have no idea about oligosynthesis I strongly suggest NOT buying a second hand. There is little difference between oligo synthesizers, (I have used ABI and MerMaid), BUT I have recently read about PolyGen synthesizers who claim that their waste product is minimal. I suggest trying them. 

HOWEVER! I strongly advice keeping away from oligo synthesis business if you think small scale. This is a very low profit business and needs a large costumer background to survive in the market. pm if you need further help. 

The MerMade by Bioautomation is well-established in the Middle East, Africa and other countries where delivery of custom oligos often takes a long time. This machine can be maintained by yourself and does not require service visits unless it is an exceptionally bad problem. I have had one for about 10 yrs.
