Hi I wanted to model Induction heating in comsol. Apply a current of 600A for 10 minutes in my coil and then a 100A current for 5 minutes. I could not find much of tutorials. I do not know where to proceed for the above problem. It would be nice if someone could help me. Thank you in advance.

Dear Visal,
you can define a function on the global definitions or ant your node. That function can be analytical or piecewise. In your case you can use a piecewise function, it is the same as Gautam suggested but you can ensure the smoothness of the function. The function there is defined as Start time, end time, function. in your case, it would be: 0 , 10, 600; 10, 1000, 100. The argument is t, add smoothing and in the arguments [s] and [A]. If you plot that function you will see it reproduces what you need. Change function name to whatever you like, ej> CurrentF. Now go to your node, in the coils I suppose, and where you introduce the current type: CurrentF(t). That calls your function, it passes the time as an argument (check that in the solver you have the same time units, i.e. [s] ) and that's it ;)

J. Anaya can you tell me .. how can we apply time-dependent BC for different time intervals? say a Pressure... for first initial 100 s it is some value, then for next 100 s it is different, again for 100 s it some other value ..and so on.
how can we do this? I'm kinda stuck at it.

I'm Solving a porous media flow using Darcy's law physics. For this physics, I'm giving a pressure input condition. But this pressure input condition is time-dependent in nature. My simulation time is ..say 400 s. for 1st 100 s , P=20 bar.for next 100 s.. I want this BC to be disabled. for the next 100 s, P=40 bar....and for the last 100s .. I want this BC to be disabled.
How can I apply this type of BC in COMSOL? .. This is possible?
