I have a hypothetical situation where I asked participants to indicate the importance degree of commitment (IV) on different outcomes (3DV). the outcomes are benefits they think they would generate based on their commitment to collaborate with someone (not past experience). My question is: is it possible to examine the causal relationship based on something that they think it is important? I plan to do SEM because I have other relationships in my model 7 constructs.
