I need to reduce the length of my cell culture process. I was thinking of doing this by shifting log phase earlier on, but I cant find any papers that have enhanced cell growth through media as of yet.
Anyone got any tips on how to reduce culture length while maintaining titer?
Or how to enhance cell growth through media additives?

Depending on the the cell type there are speciality media available. You can also look adding platelet lysate instead of FBS.
Judging from your brief description of the state of your cell culture, I sense it stems from normal tissue. In addition to my not being familiar with the species of derivation and the medium you employ, reminded me of a similar situation I experienced initiating cultures of normal embryonal and adult mesenchymal cells.

Thank you all for your responses, I meant to say, I am culturing CHO cells for protein production so we cannot add FBS or any other non-chemically defined media.
We have been temperature shifting to 31 (increases titer), so we changed back to a temp shift of 37 --> 34 and thats been pretty sufficient for our needs.
Im just a little surprised that there are no cheap growth factors/nutrients you can add (besides insulin) to increase growth on a specific day during culture protocol.
