How to do transfection efficiently?

I am trying to transfect an sh-rna in my mammalian cells using lipofectamine 2000 reagent but every time transfection does not completely. Im using 1.5 ug of dna 5ul of lipofectamine and 200ul of optimem, all this i add to 35mm dish containing 1ml media. What mistake I must be making? I dont understand.

Also while adding dna mix and lipofectamine mix, what should we add first?
