How to dissolve Chitosan methacrylate in milli-Q?

I have prepared Chitosan methacrylate. After its preparation when I tried to dissolve and mix PEGDMA to UV crosslink using IRGACURE, no crosslinking is observed. Can anyone find me a reason for it?

Chitosan methacrylate dissolves best in mildly acidic aqueous solutions (pH ~4-5) rather than neutral Milli-Q water to ensure proper solubility and protonation. Insufficient dissolution, low photoinitiator concentration, or inadequate UV exposure likely caused the lack of crosslinking with PEGDMA and Irgacure.
