by changing the operation parameters (reactor temperature, pressure, heating rate, residence time) or by controlling the feedstock plastic types.

As stated the operating parameters have an impact on the quality. However, most of it relies on the type of plastic under consideration for pyrolysis.
Ziad. The answer to your questions would need to be very long. The yields of hydrocarbons are subject to the type of plastic, inerts, heating rate, pyrolysis temperature. I've run plastics and you won't get pure hydrocarbons, but oxygenated hydrocarbons - when condensed they are brown and not tarry. Sulphur removal can be done in the gas phase using NaHCO3(s) and the best option after removing contaminants is to use catalysts, namely zeolites, to crack the hydrocarbons and make monomers of some sort. A lot of work has been done in this area over the past 40 years.

Pyrolysis chemistry is very complex in general. There has been a lot of research work published on the pyrolysis of different types of plastic wastes, biomass waste, and other organic wastes. However, a lot of the published papers present a superficial overview without going into deep science chemistry.
Generally speaking, the physical and chemical properties of the pyrolysis fuel oil depends mostly on the feedstock type. However, operating conditions, catalyst types, pyrolysis set-up also have a significant impact on final products. For example, the role of temperature is critical, as different temperatures will lead to very different products (fuel oil, char, gases) ratios and quality.
In the last 5 years, our research group has published many very interesting and high impact articles on pyrolysis of different waste types, different catalysts including natural zeolites, different operating conditions using a small pilot-scale pyrolysis set-up (Reactor size 20 L).
