We have obtained some novel miRNA sequences of buffalo, following NGS of sRNA sequences (Ion Torrent platform).
I have contacted the miRBase however, no communications received.
Please let me know what are the steps to do so and what else suitable miRNA databases are there?
Submit them your precursor and mature miRNA sequences. Also specify the position (e.g 20-41) of mature miRNA nucleotides in precursor.

miRNA_name miRNA_Seq Pre-miRNA_Seq length_miRNA position_in_premiRNA

1. should I mail the table to miRBase?
2. There is no report of miRNA in buffalo, so what name should I give to these miRNA? Bbu_miRNA_26_3p like that?

Ensure that this name has not been assigned to the microRNAs of any other organism. Its not necessary that u take first letter of generic name and first two letters of specific name.
For apple (Malus domestica) miRNAs the letters mdm have been used and mdo is used for Monodelphis domestica. I suggest you to contact miRBase b4 assigning names to ur identied sequences.
Yep, thats OK. For Bubalus bubalis it should be Bbu____. But the question is miRBase is not replying to my mails. What can be the other alternatives?
A limitation of miRBase is that it does not include
the newly identified miRNA sequences by itself
instead the researchers submit the sequences
identified by them after their work gets published.
Besides this the new versions are sometimes released
very late leaving the researchers ignorant about the
new sequences identified during the gap of two
consecutive releases. For example there was a gap of
almost a year between release 18 and 19 and same
was the case of gap beteween release 19 and 20. So you have to go through the google scholar to see new publications.
