Here is another helpful file I created (attached). It takes a while to internalize what it means ... but is definitely worth the time.
The next frontier (beyond this) is what Jochen Wilhelm talks about in this forum elsewhere. It has to do with inspecting the finer/informative contours of Poisson noise. That is, the expression of nothing - or near nothing... as it turns out...
how close to nothing something is, is very important, and informative. It means that at least 1 very, very specific identifiable thing happened with great (and acceptable) certainty.
It is called "droplet digital PCR" ... which of course brings along its own cadre of complexities, but, these, Dr. Bustin and crew are already responsibly addressing in the form of the dMIQE Guidleines.
It is always interesting how technology evolves (especially in it's exponential incarnation as of recent, present years). But, it is always good to have the appropriate checks and balances to go with it as it proceeds (e.g., quality control).
Thus the MIQE Guidleines, thus the dMIQE Guidleines, thus Dr. Stephen A. Bustin.
