I wanted to understand the average time period that you can expect Lentiviruses carrying your target gene remain active within the culture media of the target cells (not 293T)?
I performed transductions of my target cell lines (HCT116, SW480 and other colon cancer cell lines) about 3 weeks back. Since then, I have passaged my cells at least twice and changed media 4-5 times - washing with pbs every time. Is there any chance of me still finding lentiviruses in the culture media of these cells?

Hi Deepak,
I would say there not any possibility to find active LVs in your target cells. LVs are very sensitive to degradation and they do not last more that 1-2 days in the culture.
