I am isolating exosomes from the SBI Exoquick TC Ultra kit. I'm going to run some right away on western blots, but was hoping to store some for a while to add onto gelatin matrices for imaging. Any suggestions on best storage techniques to maintain structure and protein function?
You can add glycerol or sucrose and freeze dry the exosomes or simply put it in -80 freezer, or even in liquid nitrogen. In our lab, we simply left exosomes in the cell culture medium and stored in -20 freezer for several months. After thawing, we tested the medium with DLS and the result showed an abundance of EVs (~900nm) and exosomes (50-200nm).
