Is it true that primer dimer makes a melting curve at 78°c in real time PCR?
In general badly designed primers would lower PCR efficiency or even prevent product amplification.
Melting temperature of primer dimres depends on the primers in question (length, GC-content, etc.)

.. but if you know or suspect you have "badly designed primers", then redesign them, surely….?

if amplicon size of your designed primer is high it shurely affect amplification of desired gene. if GC content is too high indirectly your annealing tm will be increased. in short bad primer in the sense- high amplicon size, high gc% content, in fasta sequence where you designing the primer means in between the sequence or towards 3' end(best for primer designing).
