Millions are now suffered due to war in Ukraine ,so do we need for more peace between Russia and Ukrainian ,why not to negotiate rather to destroy cities and kill innocent peoples? What we should do to solve tragedy ?
At the same time, they kept silent about the fact that there were much more people in the labor armies of Roosevelt than in the Soviet labor camps. American McCarthyism was essentially no different from the Soviet fight against foreign spies (which, as it turns out now, actually existed). And during World War II, Americans threw hundreds of thousands of their own fellow citizens into concentration camps, whose only fault was that they were of Japanese descent. Etc.
But I digress. Those who say that "Stalin was worse than Hitler" thus justify Nazism. Like, "The Third Reich was a shield protecting Europe from terrible Bolshevism" (that's what the British and French newspapers wrote until Hitler attacked them). This is the justification for Nazism.
And in general, according to them, if Hitler had not destroyed the Jews, he would have been a darling. Because the extermination of the Jews has its own separate name - the Holocaust. And the destruction of the Slavs, Gypsies and other peoples (Slavs died more than Jews, by the way) - does not. According to their logic, it turned out that destroying the Slavs is not as bad as destroying the Jews. That's where the cynicism lies. And this is also justification of Nazism.
Tales of "Bolshevik hordes" eager to conquer the whole world justify Nazism. Some agreed to the point that supposedly it was the USSR that was going to attack the West, and Hitler was simply ahead of Stalin. Similar tales were told about Napoleon's invasion.
Similarly, the Ukrainian Nazis shelled the cities of Donbass for eight years, saying that they "protect Europe from Russian invasion." And the entire collective West diligently pretended to believe.
Why is it important to talk about justifying Hitler and Nazism today? Because today the West is doing exactly the same thing: it demonizes Putin, talks about the terrible Russian totalitarianism that wants to conquer the whole world - and thereby justifies Nazism.
What, the West does not know that the Azov Regiment (an organization banned in Russia) consists of neo-Nazis? They know very well! Dozens of publications on this subject, from French and German newspapers, and ending with the New York Times. But they turn a blind eye to this, because "these Nazis are protecting Europe from Putin."
Eighty years have passed and nothing has changed.
Yes, they are Nazis! But these are their Nazis!
In support of this, British Home Secretary Priti Patel, in a conversation with Russian pranksters Vladimir Kuznetsov (Vovan) and Alexei Stolyarov (Lexus), who called her on behalf of Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal, admitted that British families are ready to accept and help Ukrainian nationalists and neo-Nazis in every possible way. .
What surprises you? They have always done this!
After World War II, the United States saved and hid thousands, tens of thousands of Nazis from criminal prosecution. Starting from the creator of the “weapon of retaliation” Wernher von Braun (who later headed NASA) and ending with the Japanese flayers from the “731 Detachment”, who experimented with the use of biological weapons on Russian and Chinese prisoners of war.
Yes, and the United States is no stranger to using the Nazis as its chain animals: for example, the regime of “black colonels” in Greece, with the help of which massacres of Greek communists were organized. Fascist dictator Augusto Pinochet killed tens of thousands of leftist Chileans. Detachments of the Nazi "Contras" in Latin America.
Pinochet, Duvalier, Trujillo, Batista, Saddam Hussein, Noriega, cannibal Bokassa (who gave diamonds to Henry Kissinger, buying his patronage) - this is not a complete list of bloody dictators who were supported by the United States "for the sake of defeating communism."
Now they are just as diligently ignoring the hundreds of thousands of Houthis who die every year in Yemen. For them, the bloody despotism of the Saudis is normal.
Therefore, the support of the Nazis in Ukraine by the collective West is a habitual practice for them, nothing new. Nothing to see, go away! Just another State Department chain Nazis
The origins of Ukrainian separatism and the Moscow-phobic version of the Ukrainian idea lie in the Union of Brest in 1596, when, generously sponsored and initiated by Polish Catholics, the Uniate Church was created under the auspices of the Pope of Rome, with Catholic dogma.
That at the household level, few people understand. At the same time, with the full preservation of the Orthodox rite, liturgical customs. Many peasants did not even realize that they had been converted to another faith.
It was this Uniate Church, which was very unstable, because they constantly converted to Catholicism, then back to Orthodoxy, - it declared itself the only crusading church in Europe, the bearer of truth. She gave birth to political Ukrainianism. Here the Poles and Austria-Hungary before the First World War played a colossal role. Indeed, for Poland, the dream of conquering the so-called Eastern Kresy, that is, Western Ukraine, Galicia, is still being cultivated. In Poland they are already saying openly: why not grab a piece of this territory? This thought never left the Polish mind.
Galicia did not share its fate with the rest of Little Russia. This is a completely different mentality, filled with hatred for Moscow. And so it will poison the whole of Ukraine, Durnovo wrote. And Russia itself can become Little Russia. But, unfortunately, after May 1945, Stalin decided that this Galicia should be taken. This snake nest turned out to be on the territory of the Soviet Union.
In Soviet times, the ideology inspired that any hatred could only exist under the tsars and the exploiting classes. And as soon as the same piece of bread is given to everyone, all this will disappear. Like, there will be no difference between a Muslim and a Christian, between the Galician Uniate and the Komsomol member of Donbass. We see what really happened. I, the daughter of historians, studied the history of international relations. None of the textbooks contained anything about Bandera. No materials on this topic were published anywhere, and therefore our people turned out to be unprepared for what has now manifested itself.
Before the First World War, in the territory of Galicia - then part of Austria-Hungary - there were concentration camps for supposedly sympathetic to Russia, the Orthodox.
One priest was even crucified upside down, like the Apostle Peter. Galician-Russian historians, absolutely pro-Russian, who still stubbornly call themselves Galician-Russian historians in exile, wrote about those monstrous repressions, blamed Ukrainians, Uniates for this. Because only they were called Ukrainians. The rest were considered Little Russians, who are guilty, I quote, “in our folk martyrology, traitors who have renounced Russia.”
Tyagnibok's great-grandfather Longin Tsegelsky, a well-known figure in fascist circles, was an informer. He figured in this capacity at the Versailles Conference, which established the facts of war crimes at the end of the First World War. With difficulty escaped punishment, he emigrated to the United States.
In the thirties, Metropolitan Andrey (Sheptytsky), a former Austrian count, a Catholic who became a Uniate metropolitan, who later blessed the SS division "Galicia", "Nakhtigal" - back in the thirties, even in 1929, he was already aiming his flock - and then Galicia belonged to Poland - in order to conquer Moscow someday. He writes: "The Lord will give us more mercy to preach in the Kuban, Tobolsk and Moscow." You can imagine how long this has been going on.
In the thirties, our intelligence reported on the preparation of deeply echeloned structures, which later became bandit formations in the rear of the Red Army, and even during a successful offensive, terrorized the local population. In Volyn, as you know, the "Volyn massacre" took place. Then even the SS men were amazed at the atrocities of these Bandera men, who ripped open the stomachs of pregnant women alive, thrusting live rats into them; who quartered five-year-old children and then hung them up with such “bouquets”. There are photographs from court cases, from the archives of Poland, Slovakia, Germany and Ukraine, from our archives - both local and central - confirming this. That's what Bandera is.
After Galicia became part of the Soviet Union, the murderers were punished. But until the seventies, caches were constantly found in the copses, where the unfinished Bandera people were hiding, who constantly carried out terrorist attacks, killing some party or public figure. For intimidation. These are all facts of history.
When Khrushchev debunked the cult of Stalin, followed by mass rehabilitation, many innocently convicted people, including my father's brother, were released. But in Ukraine, this wave of liberation also affected a huge number of former Bandera henchmen. It was from them that such as Irina Farion later grew up.
It should not be surprising that at the forefront of political life, as soon as Ukraine proclaimed itself an independent state, it was these Galician banners that were intercepted, including by the former communist nomenklatura.
Because she needed to stay in power. Being very aggressive, these forces claim that you and I, Russians, are a mixture of Finno-Ugric peoples with Tatars. What we stole to embellish ourselves, Kievan history, Byzantine continuity, having nothing to do with it. At the beginning of the 20th century, Academician Grushevsky, using grants from the Vienna Court, wrote his nine-volume History of Ukraine-Rus, where Ukraine is Rus, and we are Muscovy, an incomprehensible mixture of Finno-Finns and Tatars. It is very veiled, but such a theory is being carried out.
And the first ten years of Soviet power was generally a golden age for the Galician ideology. Only it was recoded as a struggle with the kings, with the power of the kings.
And Vlas Chubar, a Soviet party leader, an ardent Ukrainizer, signed the infamous decree "On Combating Sabotage in the Field of Grain Procurement", after which famine began in Ukraine. Now this is presented as a genocide of Russians against Ukrainians.
But it was Chubar who attacked the Little Russian intelligentsia with an all-Russian worldview. He imposed an urgent Ukrainization of schools, which not everyone wanted, since the Ukrainian language is not so developed as to include everything, the same scientific concepts. It was Chubar who did all this. And now it is being presented as a genocide of the Ukrainian population carried out by Russia…
As for Zelensky's statements about the possibility of abandoning the nuclear-free status, such statements are not a bluff, they are made when almost everything is ready. And in fact, we have taken on this difficult mission, which is a historical imperative for the existence of Russia. First, to protect the Russian people. Otherwise, then no one will reckon with Russia at all. And now it is already clear that the collective West is actually waging this war with us through the hands of Ukrainian Russophobes. And at stake is the place of Russia and the Russian people in world history, the construction of a multipolar world, the role of the dollar, which is not backed by anything, even by the entire wealth of the United States, as the only currency that has put practically more than half the world into financial dependence. And we see how high the stakes are. And high not only for our country, but, to a much greater extent, for the United States itself.
The rest of the world - and this is three-quarters of the territory and three-quarters, if not more, of the world's population - is watching this fight with bated breath. Because again: both during the time of the Napoleonic invasion, and as during the time of the Hitlerite invasion, the combined power of the entire West has been brought down on us.
And once again Russia, the only one in the whole world, boldly accepts the challenge, showing that its national-state will is stronger than the national-state will of the entire West. And it impresses the rest of the world.
Mark my words, our victory - and I am sure of it - will lead to the emergence of a completely different world, where there will be no dictate of one value system that has already gone bankrupt completely, and there will be a more just world order.
Therefore, we must endure. And I see that basically our people understand this at the level of intuition. As he understood at the time of Hitler's attack. Although I must say that in the trenches of Stalingrad there were conscripts of 1921, that is, already brought up in Soviet times, on the ideas of communism, world revolution, and there were conscripts of 1891, who were already under fifty. They simply, by definition, could not all treat the Soviet order in the same way, how churches were destroyed there. Nevertheless, here is this historical consciousness, the understanding that do not stand up now, do not defend the Fatherland, and at the same time the state, which, perhaps, not everyone liked, then we will not be in world history. And all the previous standing for the Faith, for the Fatherland will become meaningless. And the Battle of Borodino, and the Battle of Kulikovo, and the victory on Lake Peipsi. Better in a coffin than to be a slave—this is what Russia is showing the world even in this age of comfort, pleasure of the flesh, life doctrine as a source of pleasure. And I believe that this is the key to the improvement of the world.
The unitary state of Ukraine is always more passionate, as we have seen over these 30 years, and therefore will impose its educational, historical and other approaches on the rest of Ukraine, which, perhaps, did not aspire to this at all. In my opinion, Ukraine had to be a federation before, so that what happened did not happen. The federalization of Ukraine is when individual regions have their own voice, and one region cannot impose its will on everyone else. Who will do it? How will they do it? This will show the future. This is a very difficult process. But without large-scale, grandiose restructuring in Ukraine, these tasks are unlikely to be solved. Moreover, the West will stop at nothing to preserve this snake nest and constantly reproduce it in one format or another.
Perhaps you should read my pre-print entitled "The crisis in Ukraine," published in RG in February this year.
Negotiations are in fact taking place, and Ukraine has publicly proposed concessions, the most important being forgoing ever applying to join NATO. Since Russia's stated objectives at the beginning of the war were both vague and vast ("demilitarization" and "denazification"), Russia would have to clarify and reduce its objectives in the negotiations for them to get to a point where there could be a country-wide ceasefire.
P.S. "Roosevelt's labor armies" were actually paid jobs offered to the unemployed which rarely lasted more than a year or two.
https://uifuture.org/publications/sanctions-against-russia-what-can-actually-break-the-putin-regime/?fbclid=IwAR0Aa4IoqdzE1nhnapHQz01iH0yXipdz0FMnw61F9FQwwzK-z4VMcGT4MAQ
In order to restore peace, a joint effort is required from the world community, especially the developed countries and the UNO. Negotiation is much better than the cold war and the hot war which can cause the destruction of land to a greater extent and loss of human lives.
Yet again another mass grave. This time in Mariupol. How long more the ruSSian slaughtering machine will work?
There are two explanations for Putin's inexplicability and unpredictability:
Putin offers three solutions: the first is the most profitable; if the proposal is not accepted, he proposes a less profitable and more rigid option; if this offer is not accepted, he offers the most unprofitable, the toughest - and, most importantly, the final - option.
Putin is a judoka. And judo is not only and not so much a sport as a philosophy, worldview, the principle of making important decisions. And the essence of these decisions is to use the energy of the enemy in order to inflict maximum harm on him, and at the same time treat this enemy with love and respect.
Both of these explanations have one serious flaw: they allow you to "hindsight" understand what Putin did, but do not allow you to "calculate" what he will do next. Any prediction for some reason, ultimately, turns out to be erroneous.
So, we need to look for some new explanation for this inexplicability, so that the decisions taken by Putin on key issues, at least sometimes do not take us by surprise. There seems to be one factor that has so far been overlooked and has caused everyone to err in trying to predict what Putin will do or understand what caused him to make one or another decision. Interestingly, almost everyone talks about this factor - but no one takes it into account when trying to predict or understand Putin's decisions. This factor is the nature of the current Global Crisis. More precisely, the fact that at the end of this crisis, our world will not return to “full circles”, will not again be the same as it was before this crisis.
And this means that any decision taken with an eye to the future turns out to be inexplicable from the point of view to which we were accustomed "before the crisis". And any decision made "according to the old, familiar concepts" will be doomed to failure - because this is the essence of such a crisis as the current one. So it turns out that you can understand what Putin is doing only in one case: if you know what future determines his decisions. And for this you need to know exactly what the future will be like.
Many great minds predicted the onset of the current Global Crisis, others created the technology to predict what might come after the end of the crisis. The author, however, managed to bring this knowledge and technology together - and get (so far "in the first approximation") a picture of the post-crisis future. A look from this future to the present that is happening before our eyes helps to understand who is working for the future, and who is working for its destruction, for the end of human civilization.

"There is nothing that war has ever achieved that we could not better achieve without it."

In fact all answers are respected and well done ,but in my opinion .piece is the ultimate solution for all problems in the world ,sooner or later .
The south of Ukraine consists of five regions: Kherson, Odessa, Mykolaiv, Zaporozhye and Dnipropetrovsk. Russian troops are now present in three of them, fully controlling only the Kherson region. The fate of Zaporozhye and the Dnipropetrovsk region is directly related to the completion of the complete liberation of Donbass, that is, the defeat of the Donetsk group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A separate operation will be a campaign from Nikolaev to the west, to the Odessa region, to the border with Transnistria and Moldova, and blocking Odessa.
And this is only the south of Ukraine - but it is part of Novorossia, which includes several more regions, including Kharkiv, located in the northeast, in which our troops are also located. That is, if we consider the establishment of control over the south of Ukraine as the goal of the second stage, we must understand that the third stage is inevitable - control over the whole of Novorossia.
No amount of Western aid - financial and military - will be able to ease the shock for Kyiv from the loss of the southern regions. Not only political and economic, but also an emotional shock - a sharp change in sentiment in the Ukrainian territory that remained under the control of the Kyiv authorities. So far, the majority there believes that Ukraine will not only survive, but will also return the territories lost after February 24, but when it becomes clear that there are no chances for this and everything will only get worse, there will be a strong change of mood, almost panic will begin. It will be impossible for the current elite to retain power in this situation. That's when the understanding of the inevitability of capitulation will come - the realization that the former Ukraine will never be.
And Russia will achieve this goal - not immediately, in several stages, but it will certainly achieve it. Because we don't have the slightest chance to refuse it. Everything else will mean unfinished work, which then would still have to be completed, but in much worse conditions, during a direct military conflict with the West. We do not need a corridor to Crimea (and not even to Transnistria) - we need the restoration of the unity of the Russian world, reunification with Novorossia and the return of Ukraine to its Little Russian essence, to its historical path, to union with Russia.
Let's pray for peace;
God moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform; He plants his footsteps in the sea, And rides upon the storm.
I think it's cold war between super powers. War of Ukraine is message to the countries, who depends security on others including neighbors, Alliances, or super powers
I found this promontory column "The new cold war" by Serge Halimi (Editorial director of Le Monde Diplomatique) dating from September 2014 disconcertingly topical:
In 1980 Ronald Reagan expressed his idea of relations between the United States and the Soviet Union in one short sentence: “We win, they lose.” Twelve years later, his immediate successor at the White House, George H W Bush, was satisfied that the task had been accomplished: “A world once divided into two armed camps now recognises one, sole and pre-eminent power, the United States of America.” The cold war was officially at an end.
That period too is now over. Its death knell sounded on the day Russia had had enough of “losing” and realised that its ritual humiliation would never come to an end, with one neighbouring country after another being persuaded — or bribed — into joining an economic and military alliance against it. Obama, speaking in Brussels in March, stressed that “Today, NATO planes patrol the skies over the Baltics and we’ve reinforced our presence in Poland. And we’re prepared to do more” (1). Vladimir Putin, addressing the Russian parliament, observed that this was part of the “infamous policy of containment” that the western powers had pursued against Russia since the 18th century (2).
However, the new cold war will be different from the old one. As Obama pointed out, “unlike the Soviet Union, Russia leads no bloc of nations, no global ideology.” The latest confrontation is not between an American superpower, drawing the imperial assurance of a “manifest destiny” from its religious faith, and an “evil empire” castigated by Reagan for its atheism. On the contrary, Putin is appealing with some success to Christian fundamentalism. On annexing Crimea, he suddenly remembered it was the place “where Saint Vladimir was baptised ... adopting Orthodoxy predetermined the overall basis of the culture, civilisation and human values that unite the peoples of Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.”
In other words, Moscow will not allow Ukraine to become a rear base for its enemies. The Russian people, inflamed by nationalist propaganda that is even more extreme than western brainwashing (and that’s saying something), won’t have it. Meanwhile, in the US and Europe, the supporters of rearmament are raising the stakes, with warlike declarations and a host of assorted sanctions that only increase the determination in the enemy camp. “The new cold war may be more perilous,” warns Stephen F Cohen, one of America’s leading Russia experts, “because, unlike its predecessor, there is no effective American opposition — not in the administration, Congress, media, universities, think tanks” (3). The well-known recipe for every kind of trap...

he individual man becomes the victim of collective psychoses. There is a terrible narrowing of consciousness, the suppression and repression of many essential human traits, the entire complexity of the emotional and intellectual life of a person. Unity is achieved not through completeness, but through more and more defectiveness. Intolerance is related to jealousy. Jealousy is a psychosis in which the sense of reality is lost. Soul life overturns and becomes fixed at one point, but the point at which fixation takes place is not perceived at all in reality.
A person in whom intolerance has reached the height of fanaticism, like a jealous man, sees only one thing everywhere, only betrayal, only betrayal, only violation of fidelity to one, he is suspicious and suspicious, everywhere he opens conspiracies against his favorite idea, against the object of his faith and love. A fanatically intolerant person, like a jealous person, is very difficult to return to reality. A fanatic possessed by a persecution mania sees around the intrigues of the devil, but he always persecutes, tortures and executes himself. A man possessed by persecution mania, who feels himself surrounded by enemies, is a very dangerous creature, he always becomes a persecutor, it is he who pursues, and is not pursued.
To a fanatic, the devil always seems terrible and strong; he believes in him more than in God. Fanaticism has religious origins, but it easily passes into the national and political sphere. A national or political fanatic also believes in the devil and his wiles, even if the religious category of the devil is completely alien to him. Against the forces of the devil, an inquisition or a committee of public salvation, an all-powerful secret police, a check, is always created. These terrible institutions have always been created by the fear of the devil. But the devil always turned out to be stronger, he penetrated into these institutions and led them.
There is nothing worse than fear. Spiritual healing from fear is most necessary for a person. An intolerant fanatic commits violence, excommunicates, imprisons and executes, but he is, in essence, weak, not strong, he is crushed by fear and his consciousness is terribly narrowed, he believes in God less than the tolerant one.
The modern pathos of intolerance is very different from the medieval one; then there really was a deep faith. The average man of our time has no ideas, he has instincts and affects. His intolerance is caused by the conditions of war and the thirst for order. He knows only the truth that is useful to the organization. The twofold division of the world, caused by the demands of war, has its inevitable consequences. Our era does not know criticism and ideological dispute and does not know the struggle of ideas. She knows only denunciations, excommunications and punishments. A dissenter is treated as a criminal. Don't argue with a criminal. In essence, there are no more ideological enemies, there are only military enemies belonging to hostile powers. Dispute is tolerance, the most ferocious disputer is a tolerant person, he allows the coexistence of other ideas
Only terrorist state and russian multinational people carry responsibility. So-called "Constitution" of this terrorist state only confirms this:
Article 3. 1. The bearer of sovereignty and the only source of power in the russian federation shall be its multinational people.
Look at the list:

2. 1992-1993 - russia provoked the Abkhaz war
3. 1994-1996 - The first russian-Chechen war
4. 1999–2009 - The Second russian-Chechen War
5. 2008 - russian-Georgian war

According to RSF (translated from French) ... Shireen Abu Akleh... was shot dead on Wednesday 11 May.... At the time she was shot, she was wearing a jacket on which was inscribed the word “Press”, which clearly identified her as a journalist.... “RSF is not satisfied with the proposal of the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Yaïr Lapid that his country is participating in a joint investigation into the circumstances of the journalist's death, said Christophe Deloire, Secretary General of RSF. An independent international investigation must be launched as soon as possible.”...Since 2018, RSF has identified more than 140 journalists who have been victims of violations by Israeli security forces and since 2000, at least 30 journalists murdered. The idea of European parliamentarians to adopt a resolution calling in case such leading retired European politicians as ex-Chancellor of Germany Schroeder and ex-Foreign Minister of Austria Kneisl refuse to leave the boards, supervisory boards and other governing bodies of large Russian companies such as Rosneft , to include THEM in the sanctions lists, admirably conveys not only the essence of today's European politics and the poisonous atmosphere in which it is brewed, but also where Europe is actually heading. Normal such, ordinary fascism. Or rather, Nazism. By Hitler. Only instead of Jews and Gypsies as Untermensch - Russians and Russia as such. Even the wording is the same.
What was said in the European Parliament about the fact that retired European politicians who "continue to receive Russian money" should be subject to sanctions? Doesn't it remind you of anything? For Adolf Schicklgruber, it was "dirty Jewish money". It greatly contributed to the organization of the pogroms on Kristallnacht and, after the start of the war of the "Thousand-Year Reich against the Jewish Bolsheviks", the adoption and implementation of the decision on the "final solution of the Jewish question." Now, however, Europe, together with America and allied, as in the last war, Japan, is trying to finally resolve the Russian issue, and this will be harder. But on the other hand, the historic villa in Wannsee is in its place, the death camps in Poland and Austria too...
How long will it take to demuseify them and start barracks, gas chambers and crematorium ovens in the usual mode? Spit once. And by the way, it's cheap. And the number of Ukrainians who are ready and able to fulfill for the current Fuhrers of the Fourth Reich their usual historical role of kapos and guards in the concentration camps and ghettos of the "new Europe", which they successfully performed in the Third Reich, is now more than enough in the European Union. And if they are not enough, the Balts or Poles will help. Fortunately, they all have the same heroes, correct from the point of view of the grandson of any SSovets, and the enemies are the same. Only instead of Stalin, the Russians now have Putin, and only half of the country remains compared to 1941. The task seems to the organizers of the blitzkrieg of 2022 much easier than then, in 1941.
The story goes in a hell of a lot of interesting ways. Whimsical. Just the same, according to the Scandinavian sagas, so beloved by the composer Wagner and the Nazis. The serpent Ouroboros again clung to its own tail. Looks like Ragnaradi is close. She is Ragnarok - "The Last Battle" or "Twilight of the Gods". Those who wish can read. There are a lot of things about this in the "Elder Edda", and in the "Younger". No wonder they were translated into Russian. Well, or, if there is a penchant for the operatic genre, you can listen to "Ring of the Nibelung", get inspired. It also sets it in the right way. At least all four operas, at least one, the last one. What did our superiors say about the fact that they do not want a Third World War and, if they can, will not allow it? It will not depend on him. For now, that's where we're going.
France 24, AFP, and Reuters (Translated from French). The Paris Court of Appeal confirmed, Wednesday, May 18, the indictment for "complicity in crimes against humanity" of the French cement group Lafarge for its activities in Syria until 2014, in accordance with its previous decision which had was canceled by the Court of Cassation... Lafarge, which merged with the Swiss Holcim in 2015, is suspected of having paid nearly 13 million euros to armed groups, including the Islamic State (IS) group, for keep its factory in Jalabiya, in northern Syria, in operation in 2013 and 2014. ... "When serious crimes are committed, it is not only the political and military leaders whose responsibility must be elucidated but also the economic actors," said Claire Tixeire, a lawyer for the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, after the hearing, to journalists, rejoicing at this "victory". “It is the first time in the world that a company has been indicted for such a crime. It is also the first time in the world that a parent company has been indicted for activities abroad in through its subsidiary. From the point of view of the responsibility of multinationals, this is very important", she added. "We must not underestimate the risk of a perversion of democracy, its possible reversal into its opposite when it becomes a system in which the majority imposes its will or its opinion on the minorities without discussion, with arrogance and contempt". (Translated from French) The counter-reactionaries, 2007 - Pierre-André Taguieff. I am wondering what could be the reaction of A. Taguieff if we replace "the majority" by "the minorities" and vice-versa.
In the summer of 1945, Lev Gumilyov wrote an essay for the army newspaper "Remarks on the Decline of Europe" :
Not me, but many of my comrades, German culture struck me with its grandiosity. In fact, the paved roads of the Berliner ring, excellent houses with comfortable apartments, an abundance of all means of mechanization, from tractors to pencil sharpeners, fragrant gardens, planted forests, etc., etc. No less manifestations of spiritual culture are abundant: the houses are full of books, good and bad paintings are on the walls, cleanliness, neatness, the triumph of order.
And in the midst of this "culture" - we, dirty and unshaven, stood and did not understand: why are we stronger than we are better than this combed and pomaded country?
Here is the key to our advantage: we are younger, the future is ours.
Culture is not in the number of cars, houses and warm toilets. Not even in the number of books written and printed, no matter how luxuriously they were published. Both are the results of culture, not culture itself. Culture is the way people relate to each other. Culture is where strong and noble feelings arise from human relationships - friendship, loyalty, compassion, patriotism, love for one's own and humanity as respect for someone else.
It was this kind of real culture that Germany lacked. The Germans absolutely did not know how to establish relationships with other peoples. I'm not talking about the horrors of concentration camps. No, even ordinary Germans, not connected with the Gestapo or the SS troops, simply did not know how to find a tone acceptable to the Poles, French and Serbs. The Germans forgot that it was not enough to win, one must be able to make peace with the defeated in order for the victory to be lasting. But even if they remembered this, they would not be able to remake themselves. They have learned to be human. This is the death of culture.
From spiritual inferiority follows a surprising, at first glance, fact - the instability of the Germans in battle. At first, I could not even believe that the Finns, Hungarians and even Romanians fought more desperately than the Germans, because in the First World War the Germans surprised the world with their stamina. But this also becomes clear. Constant order in the little things of personal life weaned the Germans from the initiative, so necessary in a war, where all the time you have to "apply to the situation."
The internal, creative initiative was crushed by the external, learned habit of order. These qualities are not innate, but acquired. 200 years ago the Germans were more humane and bolder. Then they created philosophy, literature, music, scientific systems for the whole world. In the 17th century, the Germans were the best soldiers in the world. In the XX, they were only suitable for homicide.
And finally, the third result of degeneration is physical inferiority. A tall, broad-shouldered, muscular European, being taken out of his usual greenhouse conditions of existence, surprisingly quickly turns sour, loses vigor and sinks to the point that the slightest illness brings him to the grave. The resistance of his pampered organism is extremely low. This has been shown in practice. Such are not only the Germans, but also other Western European peoples, because feudal-bourgeois culture is decaying everywhere, from the Vistula to Gibraltar. The blood cools in the veins.
So is it worth it to envy all this "splendor", rotted from the roots to the crown, to us, people with a good heart and hot blood? We have nothing to worry about. We will have everything - cars, roads, and warm toilets with washstands.
And we are not afraid of anything as long as we can: 1) respect and appreciate someone else's and 2) love our own more than life. These two qualities of Russian nature, in direct opposition to European complacency and prudence, created a great Russian culture and its best creations: Russian literature and the Russian army.
Sergey Viktorovich Pushkin russian culture cost nothing, as it raised looters and rapists, who have no honor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qx7uSIFFSb4
Taiwan: Joe Biden raises his tone with regard to Beijing, By Euronews with AFP • Updated: 23/05/2022 - 21:19. (Translated from French). US President Joe Biden, visiting Tokyo, multiplied warnings against Beijing on Monday, warning that the United States would defend Taiwan in the event of an invasion of the island by China which, according to him , "flirts with danger" by multiplying military maneuvers. Beijing reacted strongly by invoking its "sovereignty", and judging that the United States "plays with fire". After a visit to South Korea, Joe Biden arrived in Japan this Sunday, American officials considering these two countries as the linchpins of the American system in the face of the rise of China in the region. During a joint press conference on Monday with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, the White House tenant warned that the United States was ready to use its military means if Beijing invaded the autonomous island of Taiwan. "We agreed with the one-China policy, we signed it (...) but the idea that (Taiwan) can be taken by force is simply not appropriate", he added. Beijing quickly responded by calling on the US president to "not underestimate" his "firm determination" to "protect his sovereignty". "We urge the United States (...) to avoid sending the wrong signals to the independence forces" in Taiwan, said Wang Wenbin, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The United States is "playing with fire", then reacted Zhu Fenglian, a spokeswoman for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, often described as the Chinese government. They are "using the Taiwan map to contain China and will burn themselves there," she added. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said Biden's comments were consistent with US policy on Taiwan. “As the president said, our one-China policy has not changed,” Austin said. "He also underscored our commitment, in the Taiwan Relations Act, to empower Taiwan to defend itself," he added. Displaying a united front against Beijing, MM. Biden and Kishida also reaffirmed their "shared vision of a free and open Indo-Pacific", the Japanese Prime Minister specifying that Tokyo and Washington "will monitor the recent activities of the Chinese navy, as well as the movements related to the joint exercises of China and Russia". RFI: Turkey threatens to dash Swedish, Finnish hopes of quick NATO entry, By: Dorian Jones, 23/05/2022 - 11:44. Veto-wielding NATO member Turkey is threatening to end Swedish and Finnish membership hopes. However, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's opposition is rekindling questions over Ankara's allegiances, given its close ties with Moscow. Erdogan doubled down on his opposition to Finland and Sweden's NATO membership application, accusing the countries of supporting terrorist organizations fighting Turkey. The Turkish president told the Scandinavian countries not to bother to send diplomatic delegations to change his mind. But NATO is seen as now paying the price for ignoring Erdogan. To all friends and researchers ,thankyou for good answers ,mi think the war is reached to the vend within amonth or more but it should be ended,
Here, in the high (but not the highest, which is more than essential for us at the current historical stage) the idea was inadvertently expressed: why not rename the South Kuril Islands to hell, which the Japanese always look askance at, calling them "Northern Territories", so so that there is no trace of Japanese (and actually Ainu) names on our maps. It seems like a patriotic, at first glance, idea. Primitive, of course, but who has what approach to this. Fortunately, Japan behaves unfriendly towards us, releases aggressive remarks, imposed sanctions and generally keeps in line with the anti-Russian policy of the United States, as, indeed, the country occupied by the Americans, which it de facto is, behaves and is supposed to.
The idea is not new and constantly pops up in different organizations and at different levels. Since people are different, their brains are arranged in different ways, and for those who do some useful business in a bad way, or they are not capable of doing any sensible things, since their hands are attached to the body with the wrong end, and even if the kettle cooks, so not entirely about that, but they want fame and want to attract the attention of their superiors even more, renaming something into something else is a chance to stand out from the general gray mass. They did not open it, which they were going to rename, did not found it, and generally did not hit a finger on a finger there, but to cross out someone else's and write their own in its place is also a reason for pride. At least for some categories of people. And from antiquity.
It is they who draw their uninteresting names on ancient buildings and rocks, scratch them on trees and decorate fences and bridges with them, periodically interspersed with hearts pierced by arrows or obscene language, sometimes marvelously beautifully designed. And here the author does not mean at all Banksy, Keith Haring, Basquiat or their most talented followers. Not at all. It's about something else: somehow mark. Why, to whom it is better - it does not matter. Incidentally, very common at the turn of the era. Such a primitive and rather stupid move, designed more for the instincts of the crowd than for logic or expediency. Especially Peter was "lucky" with this in our eternal revolutions. He was St. Petersburg, and Petrograd, and Leningrad, and again St. Petersburg ...
Moscow, by the way, as it was from the very beginning, so it remained Moscow, although the word is no more Russian than Shikotan, Iturup or Paramushir. Yes, and Murmansk with Abakan, Magadan, Sakhalin, Volga, Baikal, Altai, Kazan, Kurgan and Kamchatka from the same test. For centuries, the country was built and those who inhabited and conquered its constituent lands and waters, as a rule, did not invent names for them from the ceiling, but the locals took them - which the natives had. And why are the Ainu or the Japanese worse than the Tatars, Chechens or Germans, the author cannot understand by the simplicity of his soul. Rather, on the contrary: he would have left the old ones in East Prussia. Or at least he paralleled them with the post-war ones. Out of principle. We have taken Koenigsberg, Pillau and Tilsit from the Germans - and now this is Russia. Let them remember. It is very useful for cultivating the modesty of the spirit of neighbors. It's the same with the Japanese.
At the end of May, we can say with confidence that this month was successful for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation as part of a special military operation in Ukraine. First, there was the surrender of the Azovstal garrison, where, along with the military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, marines and territorial defense fighters, militants of the Azov regiment banned in Russia were sitting. This was followed by a breakthrough on the Svetlodarskaya Bulge, and at that moment the partial liberation of Liman. In addition, a “cauldron” for the Ukrainian military stationed in Severodonetsk and Lysichansk is about to finally form.
Cases of voluntary surrender have already become more frequent. Against this background, the decisions taken by the Kyiv authorities are surprising. Not only did the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky reject the proposal of the commander of the Ukrainian troops, Valery Zaluzhny, to withdraw units from potential "cauldrons" and thereby maintain their combat effectiveness, but also the deputies from his Servant of the People party came up with a monstrous initiative. Parliamentarians propose to give commanders the right to shoot their subordinates for attempting to surrender. In fact, we are talking about placing detachments.
In the event that the Kyiv authorities nevertheless legalize draconian measures, it will be practically impossible to avoid a confrontation between the military and the political administration.
Among the generals, according to radio intercepts, a plan is brewing to eliminate the ruling elite in Kyiv. And this was read back on February 24, but now it has become the result of the entire conflict.
I hope that the russian offer to ukranion is good start to finish the war .
IMHO, President Zelensky's statement "The war in Ukraine can only be resolved through "diplomacy"" is a very high-flying political expression that I hear as a political call, more to the world powers than to Russia, to work for a diplomatic solution that saves the face of all. With the political stalemate and the escalation to which certain powers are pushing, the Ukrainian people are paying the tribute of a war he is forced to fight alone. perhaps this would be the case for Taiwanese tomorrow. Is it too late? Is the bill already too high? BBC, Published 4d ago: Zelensky: Only diplomacy can end Ukraine war: "The war in Ukraine can only be resolved through "diplomacy", President Volodymyr Zelensky has said. Speaking on national TV, he suggested his country could be victorious against Russia on the battlefield. However, he added that the war could only come to a conclusive halt "at the negotiating table". Read more on: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-61535353

Clear tasks have been set for Zelensky, namely, to maximize the separation of the European Union from the supplies of the Russian Federation. From the moment the United States began to move its production to regions with cheap labor, it is extremely dangerous for them to switch eastern manufacturers to work with European developers instead of Americans. In this regard, they are trying to ensure that there are practically no European developers.
For 8 years now, Ukraine has been the reason for introducing new restrictions on cooperation between the European Union and Russia. In addition, now, on November 8, the next elections in the USA. The situation inside the country is absolutely "awful". Almost the only chance for the Democratic Party to win the elections is to shift the blame for all the political failures of the party, namely to Russia. Zelensky thus solves the most important political and economic tasks for US democracy. This is not about comedy, but about serious issues that do not exist in Ukraine. She is just a tool for trying to solve these issues.
It is interesting to watch the evolution of the column headings of the British newspaper The Telegraph.
24 February. "Putin's bloody rule is over."
April 3rd. "Russia is losing to the West at its own game."
The 21st of April. "Putin's war has failed, but things could have been worse."
5 May. "Humiliated Russia is losing an epochal battle."
12 May. "Beating Putin will cost us a high price."
26 of May. "Putin is about to win a shocking victory."
And let's imagine this situation - at some stage, the Ukrainian authorities understand that things are very bad and will not get better, everything will only get worse and worse, and suddenly decides to negotiate. Moreover, things are so bad that, as a result of negotiations (difficult and lengthy), Ukraine nevertheless agrees to finally and irrevocably recognize Crimea as Russian, recognize the independence of Donbass and enshrine a neutral non-bloc status in the constitution.
Even now, such a development of events does not look like a fantasy at all. A major defeat, literally a failure in Mariupol, failures in the battle for Donbass, the not very good state of the Ukrainian army, as evidenced by numerous videos with the constant whining of “warriors of light”. Does not help and Western "iron". American and German howitzers - they may be good, but they are just howitzers. Which in Ukraine used to be Soviet and also not bad. The myths about Javelins and Bayraktars have long been dispelled, and the supply of armored vehicles from the West is only a partial, far from complete compensation for Ukrainian losses. And armored vehicles are far from new. Only the supply of anti-ship missiles and the possible supply of American MLRS cause concern, but this is not a "wunderwaffe" and will not stop the advance of the allied forces.
And here the question arises for me - can such a development of events, with these successful negotiations, be considered a victory for Russia?
Probably many will be surprised by my answer - no. It won't be a win. Because the conflict won't end there. There will be only a pause, perhaps a long one, but everything will definitely end in a new big fight.
And the worst, unacceptable option is if, as a result of these negotiations, Ukraine turns into the same “fraternal” state for Russia, as it was under Leonid Kuchma or Viktor Yanukovych. Moreover, it will be a real defeat for Russia. For one simple reason.
The same "anti-Russia" - it will not disappear anywhere. She will only smile sweetly again, begin to flatter, suck gas, oil, money, and other resources from Russia, and will again raise Bandera wolf cubs from children, teach history in schools using Soros textbooks, and sing “Our Bandera’s Father” at parties.
In Ukraine, they can even return May 9, organize parades and the Immortal Regiment with St. George ribbons, but all this will be just a candy wrapper, a shell under which Banderaism will grow stronger and develop.
And in the end, everything will end with another Maidan. And the new "full support of the West." Because such a "victory" of Russia for the West will also be beneficial. Their agents will be able to work easily and simply in the new Ukraine, just like they worked under the “pro-Russian presidents”. And after the victory of the neo-Nazis, they will immediately pump up Ukraine with weapons again. Rest assured that everything will be ready for this. And young people brought up in the “correct Bandera spirit” will take this weapon in their hands and turn it against Russia.
A new war will be much worse than a special operation. Because Bandera and Nazi ideas will be fueled by the spirit of revanchism, and this is an inexhaustible source of hatred. And then they will demand not only “to return the Crimea and Donbass”, but perhaps they will also aim at the Kuban, or Belgorod. Don't think it's fantasy.
And the worst thing is that this beast will be reared again for Russian money. This is exactly the same thing that happened 25 years of Ukraine's independence before the Maidan, only at the maximum, on adrenaline and steroids.
I really hope that those who are engaged in long-term planning and strategy are well aware that it is impossible to step on the same rake again. The next time, their blow could be fatal. And that is why Victory should become Victory, and not a crafty document signed as a result of negotiations.
Mythology of modern Ukraine
Myth #1. The whole world is with us, Russia will be crushed by sanctions
Ukrainians firmly believe in this myth, although they have only the collective West and its most pitiful vassals in other parts of the world on their side. While the two largest and most dynamically developing countries in the world - China and India - support Russia, like almost all of Central and South America, Africa, and most of Asia. The UN votes showed that most countries of the world do not condemn Russia and treat with understanding Moscow's desire to get rid of Western dictates, which often hinders them even more than Russians. Under these conditions, the sanctions imposed by the West against Russia lose all meaning. Some of them are really good for us. Russia will bypass others with the help of its friends in the world, simultaneously getting rid of compradors at the top, who saw "this country" only as a semi-colony of the West, its raw material appendage.
Myth #2. We will soon be accepted into the EU, we need to hold out for a couple of months, and we are in paradise
Unforgivable naivete. This is when it was decided in Kyiv whether to throw out the white flag or not, the Westerners loudly shouted that they would accept Ukraine into the EU under the “fast track procedure”, after “a few weeks”, “a few months”, they offered to help fill out an application, and when the Ukrainian authorities inspired by this decided and began to fight, went completely different speeches. The admission of Ukraine to the EU "will take several years and even, to tell the truth, decades," said French President Emmanuel Macron. It is “not a matter of a few months or a few years,” German Chancellor Olaf Scholz supported Macron.
And the dodgy Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, authoritative in Europe, noted that Ukraine is “very far” even from the status of a candidate and that granting such a status to it would, they say, “unfair” in relation to the countries of the Western Balkans that have been waiting for it for a long time. In short, the ex-ambassador of Russia in Kyiv, Viktor Chernomyrdin, was absolutely right when once, answering a question about when Ukraine would join the EU, he said: “Immediately after Turkey.” “And when is Turkey?” - he clarified. "Turkey? Never…” Therefore, there will be no “paradise”, which the Europeans living in it does not seem like at all, for the Ukrainians, no matter how many they were killed at the front. And for this reason, by the way, too. There are already too many problems in the EU to add Ukrainian ones to them.
Myth #3. We will be bombarded with modern Western weapons, and we will win. Russia will have to pay indemnity
Ukrainian parochialism does not allow many citizens of Nezalezhnaya to realize the absurdity of such a formulation of the question. Russia will never be defeated by Ukraine, even if not 40 countries, as it is now, but the whole world will help Kyiv militarily. Until February 24, Ukraine, whose Soviet military stocks were seriously reduced, was supplied mainly - along with all kinds of rubbish, as now - good weapons for guerrilla warfare: quite effective MANPADS and ATGMs. However, the rapid change in the tactics of the Russian army, which began to "hurry up slowly" and got rid of uncontrolled rear areas, having received real goals and objectives, devalued it.
A small number of modern howitzers, MLRS systems and anti-ship missiles loitering ammunition that the West recently decided to supply to Ukraine so that it does not take it into its head to surrender will not play a significant role, as they are poorly integrated into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, despite intelligence from mainly American spy satellites, coming in real time. Just like, however, all kinds of drones: they can sting painfully where the air defense system is lame, but nothing more. Not to mention the old Soviet legacy from the devastated arsenals of Eastern European countries. The Russian army quickly and without any problems knocks it out when it gets to the front.
All this will only slightly delay the war and lead to an increase in losses, primarily Ukrainian ones. Since Russia has not yet used all its trump cards in the Ukrainian war. The West has actually reached the limit in the supply of weapons to Ukraine, and will not fight for it itself. For this is a direct path to nuclear retaliation. Very expensive and often useless foreign mercenaries will also not win a war with Russia for Ukraine. In short, these factors do not have a turning point, strategic significance - Ukrainians will not see Moscow's indemnity. Never.
Myth number 4. We will create an army of millions and defeat the "aggressor"
This is one of the most stupid Ukrainian myths. Already bringing, thanks to the mobilization and use of poorly combat-ready parts of the territorial defense, to 700 thousand people (this figure was recently announced by the clown president Vladimir Zelensky) of the strength of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which are opposed by about 300 thousand Russian and allied forces, has sharply reduced the combat capability of the Ukrainian army. Recent conscripts are poorly trained and armed, do not want to fight and, having no illusions about their fate, dream of surrendering as soon as possible, which they are increasingly succeeding.
The capture of the exemplary Nazi Azov Regiment and an elite brigade of Ukrainian marines in Mariupol has set a precedent that is tempting to many. As a result, there are more cowards and alarmists and completely unmotivated people in the ranks of the Ukrainian army. They do more harm than good. It also means that there will be many more casualties, and therefore problems and discontent in the home front, which may one day get out of hand.
Myth number 5. Ukraine will be able to expel Russian troops from its territory
This myth is closely related to the previous one. It is generated by a false sense of strength, since the number of Ukrainian troops, generally well-armed, exceeds three times the number of Russian troops, and Moscow does not use nuclear weapons. Therefore, the Ukrainians supposedly have a chance, by stretching the front, to gradually oust the Russian troops from the country, from most of the occupied territories. And the absence of a Russian victory behind a clear advantage will turn out to be Ukraine's greatest strategic victory, a humiliation of Moscow in the eyes of the whole world, an invitation to domestic political turmoil in a neighboring country. Another illusion!
Myth number 6. Contempt for Russia and Russians
For some, this feeling helps to fight. Although for most, not so much. After all, no mobilization has been announced in Russia. For us, as if there is no war, even on the shelves in stores, the population does not feel it. With the exception of residents of border villages, who will probably soon be spared from terrorist shelling from the territory of Ukraine by creating “security zones” on them. To underestimate and even more to anger the enemy - especially Russians or, for example, Chechens - to ask for defeat.
Myth number 7. Racial superiority of Ukrainians over the eastern horde
This myth is largely inspired by Nazi ideology, which captured a significant part of Ukraine as a result of active and methodical work in this direction by local elites, bodies and intelligence services of the West. Russians, they say, are "orcs", "pig-dogs", "rashists", not to mention other peoples of Russia. And the Ukrainians are a completely different people, pure, bright, with a biblical history, European, which the evil and stupid Russians forcibly tore away from Europe, and now prevent them from returning there. There is also nothing to refute here - all this is nonsense, genetically and historically Ukrainians in most of Ukraine are no different from Belgorod, Kursk, Rostov and Krasnodar neighbors.
They can only be separated by the Ukrainian language artificially created in the 19th century and imposed by the Bolsheviks in the 20th century. Northern Russians have an admixture of Finno-Ugric blood, Ukrainians - Polovtsian, Pecheneg, Berendey, Tork, but they have a common Kievan Rus, Tatar and Polish ethnic heritage too. And here is another interesting detail. The Pentagon biolaboratories, which carried out secret experiments on people on Ukrainian territory, in particular, in Kharkov, in many respects, of course, chose Ukraine in order to develop biological weapons against the Russians. Since American experts know perfectly well: we are talking about the same genetics.
Myth number 8. Hatred for Russia
It, which never existed in the past, was the lot of only extremely small outcasts, has been carefully cultivated in Ukraine for the past 30 years. As a result, many Ukrainians have been impregnated with this poison, starting from kindergarten: the philistine majority cannot resist the sophisticated, subconscious totalitarian propaganda. This partly happened even in the Russian South-East, where many did not greet the Russian army with flowers, not only because they were afraid of reprisals from the nationalists and Nazis. This is a factor that directly affects the course of hostilities.
That is why it is important for Russia not to rush and not just to defeat the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but to inflict a military-political defeat on Ukraine. It is necessary that the Ukrainians begin to hate their criminal and incompetent government more than Russia, before the territory in which they live is occupied by Russian troops. Only in this case, we will have a more secure rear before the onset of enlightenment, which the Ukrainians will definitely happen, and quite quickly, since this is natural and historically alien to them. Russian radio, television, newspapers, solid government, improved living standards and pride in belonging to a great country in which Ukrainians are considered Russians as well, guarantee a quick cure.
Myth number 9. Ukraine is a great agricultural power, a well-fed life will be provided in any case
Meanwhile, the country actually expects Holodomor 2.0, organized not by the terrible Stalin, although this is a very controversial statement, but by Western “friends”. The export of Ukrainian grain stocks from a country where there was no normal sowing this year, in order to supposedly feed the hungry in Africa, who will not see a single grain, dooms Ukrainians to starvation. They will not have enough bread, meat, or anything else. The West, in fact, needs this to blame Russia and Putin for the suffering of the population.
I can only pity the Ukrainian people who seem to be paying a heavy price for an unbalanced war that they are forced to wage alone in the name of the "free world. The latter from indecisions to ditherings is showing a cynic behavior that leads him to take all his wishes at face value, missing no opportunity at paying tribute to the Ukrainian people and their courage by playing the fanatical supporter but who will "take his courage on both feet" as soon as there is a risk of harm to its proper interests! Even more cynical is the positioning of certain parties which seem to take advantage of the war to achieve geostrategic objectives to the detriment of a lamentable divided weak Europe!
For a while, scholars have been examining the nagging threat related to the Europe-Russia Energy dependence. This is one of the interesting papers tackling this question, published in 2011 and still well quoted: Stegen, K. S. (2011). Deconstructing the “energy weapon”: Russia's threat to Europe as case study. Energy policy, 39(10), 6505-6513. Highlights:► Energy producers may manipulate supply and prices to coerce political concessions. ► Energy weapon model: four conditions must obtain for successful deployment. ► Western policy-makers worry about EU dependence on and vulnerability to Russia. ► Analysis of five Russian cases reveals tenuous link between weapon use and success. ► In medium term, EU can likely avoid yielding political autonomy for supply security.

The European Union has been discussing the possibility of imposing new sanctions over the past few weeks, which should make it difficult for Russian energy supplies to the West. Discussions are taking place in a very tense atmosphere and to the accompaniment of heated debates, since not all members of the bloc are ready to refuse fuel from the Russian Federation.
The European Union did everything possible to break the Russian economy, but in the end, with these actions, it harmed itself.
The imposition of sanctions against Russia turned out to be an extremely negative effect for Western economies. Restrictions on the Russian Federation - one of the world's largest energy exporters - provoked a sharp increase in the cost of fuel. Oil and gas became so expensive that even the wealthy countries of Western Europe “howled” at these prices. But the EU went even further: the bloc's leadership decided to completely ban the import of Russian oil.
The European Union announced its intention to reduce its dependence on Russian oil by 90%. At first glance, Russia is in a real quandary and faces serious problems. However, something strange happened - the West began to panic, not Moscow.
While the EU countries were arguing vigorously over new sanctions, Russia was watching all this from the sidelines. Some time ago, Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the situation. He stated that the rejection of Russian energy carriers would become an economic auto-da-fé for Europe.
The prospect of harming their own economy did not please many states, and they slowed down the negotiation of new sanctions. As a result, they never managed to agree on an oil embargo, on the contrary, it came to the point that the EU leadership agreed to revise the terms of the sanctions. Now the ban will affect only the supply of Russian oil by sea, pipelines will continue to operate as before.
In a paper published this month, Vladimir Slivyak awarded the Right Livelyhood in 2021, is telling that "while much of the debate has been focused on oil and gas, unearthed another energy dependency that is hardly talked about: nuclear fuel"..."Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary and Slovakia currently have old Soviet-built VVER reactors operated on their territory, all entirely reliant on fuel supplied by Russian state-owned Rosatom"...."But the issue of nuclear energy dependency was not raised at the EU summit this week and was also not discussed during the negotiations preceding it...."different kind of dependency" on Russian nuclear fuel and services, which Putin could use to "blackmail" certain members". It is reported that the total EU spending on oil and gas imports in 2022 amounted to 750 billion euros (despite the fact that half of the year has not passed). This is 350 billion more than in 2021 and almost 600 billion more than in 2020. Those are good numbers. Convincing. It immediately becomes clear what the meaning of anti-Russian sanctions is. And taking into account the fact that the EU economy is still far from recovering from the consequences of the coronavirus, so that production there is already on its side, one can only imagine what would happen if the volume of energy consumption by European industry was equal to pre-pandemic. However, who said that it couldn't be worse? Maybe, and how! This is where you need to be optimistic.
Gates, for example, predicts new pandemics to the world, although he stipulates that "monkey pox" is unlikely to lead to another catastrophe on a global scale. Well, he knows better. However, there are few birds and animals in the world that can be blamed for the next mega-bloom of world health? And it is possible, taking into account a factor that no one has previously calculated: the presence in the world of a large number of American military biological laboratories with their unknown, but extremely suspicious programs of action, to generally change the principle of naming another infection. Why hurt living creatures in vain?
To call them immediately by the name of the next incumbent American president, it would at least be immediately clear who people needed to thank and under whom it was this rubbish that either escaped into the world by itself, or kind people from the relevant special services launched it there. For example, the coronavirus will then become not just a coronavirus, but a Trump one. And "monkey pox" is Biden's. Very symbolic, bright, relevant, creative and extremely illustrative. And it is an honor for the inhabitants of the White House: then they will remain in history anyway. And if there is more than one pandemic per cadence of one US president, name new ones in honor of American secretaries of state, defense ministers and CIA directors.
As for the present, Europeans rejoice like children that they have managed to agree on a phase-out of purchases of Russian oil and oil products. By giving an exception and providing concessions in terms of the timing and methods of procurement to several countries that simply cannot survive without it, they managed. May God grant them now to live for some time with a sense of well-done duty. At least until winter. But, as George Martin wrote in his "Game of Thrones": "Winter is coming." Although fantasy with dragons and living dead, it may turn out to be so relevant for today's Europe ...
An interesting paper on Europe and East–West confrontation "Sleepwalking to Solidarity? Russia, Ukraine, and the European Dream", Survival Global Politics and Strategy, Volume 64, Published online: 30 May 2022/ Abstract: Europeans' awakening to a new reality of East–West confrontation, driven home by Russia's invasion of Ukraine, has fed the accusation that they must have been asleep, much as they were before the First World War. Many view Germany's complacency in particular - manifested by its promotion of energy dependence on Russia - as inexcusable. However somnolent it may have been at times, though, Europe's vision of peace and prosperity has proven resilient. When Vladimir Putin invaded Ukraine, he foreclosed complacent introspection. While Russia's permanent isolation is not a viable endgame for Europe or the United States, its isolation may be unavoidable for a generation or more. But Europe has, in living memory, fostered the rebirth of a ravaged continent as a prosperous and forward-looking civilization. In alliance with America, it can again be master of its own fate. And in this situation, the United States decided to cut off all the tails. Moreover, in the United States, judging by some signs, since last week the paid semi-annual campaign on Russophobia, timed to coincide with the impending Ukrainian operation, has ended. - Most likely, the money was allocated for about six months. And now the money is running out, and there will be no new tranche, and the free press does not work without budgets.
As for the European Union, it is not yet clear whether someone else will pay there to keep the Russophobic hysteria going. But it is worth paying attention to the fact that many processes in Europe have stalled. For example, the adoption of the sixth package of anti-Russian sanctions was moving very slowly. In addition, the admission of Sweden and Finland to NATO was slowed down. And finally, the information campaign among “people with handshakes” that Russia “must surrender” is also gradually fading away.
Perhaps money is also running out there, and people with handshakes do not work for free, as you know. This does not mean that all sanctions will now be lifted in the West, but I think that some sanctions will already be lifted, for a very simple reason - as the economic situation is deteriorating very rapidly. Europe is not accustomed to living starving. And yesterday, Scholz and Macron announced that they want to resolve the issue of Ukraine without its participation in the process. Macron told reporters: we still need to live peacefully with Russia.
I hope that I'm not repeating anyone else when I include the physical and psychological trauma related to this conflict. It came to mind after I read the very moving Nature article that was in my emails today:
'Neuroscience of trauma and the Russian invasion of Ukraine'
htttps://www.nature.com/articles/s41562-022-01344-4?utm_source=nathumbehav_etoc&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=toc_41562_6_6&utm_content=20220629
The whole article is work accessing, but to quote the beginning:
'Since 24 February 2022, Ukrainian residents have been facing ‘complex trauma’, which combines multiple exposures to trauma, often in a sequential fashion. These individuals are constantly exposed to several forms of trauma: fear of losing life and/or freedom, grief, separation from families, social isolation, social disruption and forced migration, to name a few.'
I have not answered the question, but wanted to share this.
Clear-sighted and brave MEPs: War in Ukraine "We are losing politically, economically, socially", Public Sénat: By Marie Brémeau June 25, 2022,
"As a direct consequence of the war in Ukraine and the sanctions imposed by the 27 on Russia, European economies are facing high inflation, energy prices are soaring and the specter of recession looms. Two MEPs this week in "Ici l'Europe" deliver their analysis on this war which is also a field of economic confrontation.
The observation is the same for all the economies of the 27 Member States of the European Union. The repercussions of the war in Ukraine and the salvoes of sanctions inflicted on Russia are beginning to weigh on the long term. “We are all facing a crisis which is a crisis in Ukraine but which is a globalized crisis because this war has a direct impact on our energy imports, on which our economies depend very heavily”, analyzes Christophe Hansen. “We have oil sanctions. We import more Russian oil, whereas normally we import 26% of our needs from Russia. he adds.
Inappropriate penalties
The Luxembourg MEP (EPP) even asserts that Europe is experiencing serious collateral damage while inflation continues to rise almost everywhere and we are close to recession, the sanctions have limited effects. “The problem is undoubtedly that we are not adapting our strategies, our sanctions quickly enough. Indeed, if in the short term the stoppage of the purchase of Russian oil had an impact for Russia, the Kremlin seems to have found other markets.
Russian oil exports have increased
“We see that China is buying more Russian oil, India is also importing more. So basically, they took a month or two to adapt, but they found other outlets and basically their exports in May 2022 compared to May 2021 in that market increased by 39% in the end . Because the overall price of fuel has increased, they export similar quantities but the margin they earn is higher. The Luxembourg elected official is campaigning for a faster adaptation of European sanctions.
“The Russian economy has not collapsed”
French MEP (S&D) Aurore Lalucq shares the same opinion and is worried about the future. “The Russian economy did not collapse and that was the plan. That was it. To have an economic war, to win it, to make the Russian economy collapse so that they no longer have the means to wage war. »
“National selfishness has taken over”
However, despite the sanctions, the Russian economy is holding up and the ruble is doing well. “National selfishness as usual has taken over. Germany didn't want us to touch gas or certain types of gas-related banks, the same thing for Italy... We had to act very quickly, accept that we were going to hurt ourselves, anticipating that we were going to hurt ourselves, protecting the weakest. Because there we are losing politically, economically, socially. So, it is absolutely necessary that we pull ourselves together in my opinion. The two MEPs, whether Aurore Lalucq or Christophe Hansen, believe that the hardest part is yet to come. “Unity and solidarity will be tested, not only between member states but also with Ukraine. Because the longer this crisis lasts, the more the impacts will intensify in society”, predicts the Luxembourg curator. (Own translation from French)"

PS. What neither the MEPs nor the Journalist is saying: which parties are rubbing their hands in the hope that the crime and the suffering of the European peoples in Ukraine and elsewhere will continue?
Tareq, I think you should read a tirade against Ukraine by Sergey on here. It's not the Ukrainians that are the problem.
A murderous tirade indeed.
Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, there have appeared on the RG threads, speeches that lack rigor on race and cultural issues. Equality, integrity and human dignity must not suffer from any racial differentiation within the scientific discourse, on scientific threads. Racial differentiation (and/or discourse) begins with a certain categorization of the *** race of a human person (and/or *** citizen nationality) according to *** moral (and/or *** behavioral) criteria. Otherwise what a shame! and how one can reproach other media types for some detestable racist speeches?

Some key points regarding the above question are-
This paper [1] by M. Kravchenko et al 2023 from Nat. Tech. University of Ukraine, is remarkably insightful. One may read within the conclusion "... when making comparisons, a lot depends on how the gas is produced .... All things equal, the conversion process (gas-liquid-gas) and the shipping of LNG has more emissions than piped natural gas. However, the story does not stop at emissions. The newly constructed LNG terminals and signed contracts can have some unwanted implications for our climate ambitions....These terminals were a lot more expensive than initially projected (6.5 billion euros instead of 3 billion euros)..."
