Yes, marketing can be used to help end war and promote peace. According to Clifford J. It also discusses social traps and how to mitigate or eliminate them, as well as other underlying conditions that can lead to war and how to peacefully resolve it.
I'm surprised to discover, and curious to learn more, that marketing can end a war. Certainly, it can prevent it through its actions (responsible marketing, for example), but I'm surprised that it can put an end to a war.
Marketing may not end war but through mindful marketing can make people think rationally and take responsible actions for peace which in turn can be reason to end war if every one thinks responsibly in reality this is not possible.
Yes and No. A concept of Market Power was first introduced in (1): researchgate.net/publication/285625730 as attractiveness of an entrepreneurial offer in the market economy. It was extended recently to the concept of the Social Driving Force by Danov (AKA Zhdanov) in (2): researchgate.net/publication/379874316 and (3): arXiv:2406.08432 to act in other areas of the social life in democratic administrative systems, which may be also called as Market Political Systems. The War can be stopped by Marketing if at least one of its two major sides is a democratic society. Then any of the society’s competing political sides or poles can use its antiwar program to come to the power. For example, the current war between the R.F. and U.S. known as the Russian-Ukrainian War would most likely be over if republicans come to power because the U.S. is a democratic country. Marketing could not stop the WW2 because both major adversaries were dictatorships.
While marketing alone can't end war, thoughtful marketing has the potential to encourage rational thinking and promote harmony. By influencing public perception and fostering a collective sense of responsibility, it can contribute to a broader culture of peace. However, achieving universal responsible thinking is challenging. Nonetheless, by driving awareness and promoting positive values, marketing can play a role in encouraging actions that support peace.
Marketing is a broad concept. If you see it as a promotional supplement to sales, it, alone, can’t stop the war, just along with successful sales. Where successful marketing assumes sales too (see, e.g., the definition by the American Marketing Association of 1960, or McCarthy’s definition of 1980, or some newest ones through understanding needs and establishing relationships to address them), marketing can stop the war alone. Rephrasing this in mathematical terms means that successful marketing may well be the sufficient condition to stop the war. Just a single example is enough to prove this statement. All U.S. elections are literally sales, where candidates market themselves, i.e. their qualities, programs, and intentions to come to the power. In the upcoming presidential ones, for example, the Republican candidate Mr. Trump says he’ll end the R.F.-Ukrainian war if he wins. While I’m not a military expert and can’t judge intelligently on this matter, his statement looks trustworthy because he already served a presidential term and, therefore, knows what it means.
