I had model a EGR system in Catia. In order to import to Ansys Fluent, i saved the model in .stp format. I wonder that the pipe geometry can only selected as a wall only. And there is no geometry to select as a fluid domain. So could anybody suggest me how can we assign the hollow section as a fluid domain in ansys fluent?
You have to design the "flow area" as a volume model in CATIA. After that, you can export this volume as .stp model to Ansys Fluent and use it for further simulation.

In case of a pipe model, there are the wall and the inner area of the pipe. You have to extract the surrounding surfaces of the inner area, close those surface model by defining closing surfaces at inlet and outlet section of the pipe and finally, you can convert the closed surface model into a volume model. Target is to create a volume model from the "flow area" that should be investigated in Ansys.
