There are a range of strategies you can employ:
- Look at courses which will help expand your subject knowledge and personal pedagogy,
- Read and follow appropriate journals
- Follow relevant researchers on Research Gate (and similar platforms)
- Attend conferences
- Take an active part in an appropriate professional network
In my personal opinio, professional development and staying abreast of cutting edge developments in a field require a multi pronged approach. Networking with accomplished professionals is important. This could be through formal partnership requests, social media, conferences, and professional webinars. Reading one or two leading peer reviewed journals on a regular basis will also be important.

Professional education is a life long duty and is necessary to remain competent. The half life is sometimes said to be about 5 years, but in recent times it is probably less. Every year something substantial must be mastered, and even each week some new work must be read and learned.
The online services are most up to date, but I still get magazines that in various ways have filtered out some and concentrated other major developments.
