Author is the creator or originator of any written work such as a book or play, and is thus also a writer. More broadly defined, an author is "the person who originated or gave existence to anything" and whose authorship determines responsibility for what was created...etc.
But we sometimes see authors from another specialty within same research! What causes the increase in the number of authors in the same research?
The first author is the owner of the largest footprint in the paper, but this does not cancel the contribution of the rest of the authors in the paper. The order of the authors shall be according to the contribution of each of them in the paper.
