Hi. I have a question. I would like to use HPLC for GABA measurements. I would like to use the column with Zorbax Eclipse Plus C18, but I wonder how. Help!
GABA is an amino acid, is very polar and has a zwitter-ionic nature. You won't succeed with a classic RP method. The molecule will break through and elute in the injection peak. Also you have no chromophore. A detection with a DAD will be difficult. Without precolumn derivatization, it will not work. Alternatively you can use a HILIC-column.
