This is an old question but I'll anyway answer since I had the same problem. Cayrou et al. used TEN20-0.1%SDS (TE buffer with 20mM NaCl and SDS) with incubation at 70°C to solubilize the pellet (after 30min air-drying to completely remove ethanol). This seems to work really well even at lower temperature 50°C. I have used it only for budding yeast cells, which require a centrifugation step after solubilization to get rid of the co-precipitating polysaccharides.
