hello
can any one help me how can i generate this type of mesh in abaqus as shown in the attached file ,,more refined mesh near the cutouts and bigger size away from the cutouts..i dont know if they have partitioned it or somthing like that??

Partition your part so that you have a square in the middle (where you want the mesh graded towards the circle) and rectangular regions outside. Partition the middle square with an additional vertical line so that the middle consistes of a rectangle with a half-circular notch.
Used mapped meshing everywhere, in the two middle partitions, define the four corners of the mapping appropriately (in the attahced example, the for points along the middle line.) Use seeding to get a more even mesh.
