Can I infer type of death from these methods? I mean that how can I explain the differences between results from these three techniques? Your answer is really appreciated
MTT is a measure of metabolic activitylviability of cells and might not represents/reflects the total cell death. The metabolic activity may increase or decrease depnding upon radiation dose, cell type etc. Trypan blue is a tricky process if you are not doing it carefully, it will give total cell death including apoptosis, if performed before 24 hr. Colony forming assay provides total cell death that includes mitotic, apoptotic, necrotic etc. You can't measure cell death in any assay more than colony forming. So its ultimate parameters of cell death but time taking and tidious.
