I need to sort cells (PBMCs mainly) from patients with untreated HIV, active tuberculosis and pandemic H1N1. So I need the cytometer to fit into a Class II Type A2 Biological Safety Cabinet or else, bring its own containment. My budget is not big. And Partec choices look too good (I haven't seen them working). So if one you knows them, I would be very grateful of your opinion.

Actually we have to decide between buying a "big" cytometer and sorter, that can be contained in a biosafety cabinet or else buy the cheapest sorter (without many fluorscence parameters-we need between 4 and 6 only) and a reasonable analyzier, like MACSQuant or equivalents.
In my opinion, it is very important to be realistic about how often the lab will actualy need sorting, then. If not often, can you rent time on a sorter somewhere else when needed?
I know a lab who purchased a sorter, and realized that it was well beyond their needs. The daily setup of the machine was a huge burden just for analysis. They are currently looking to sell their sorter and get a top line analyzer.
