Roch sold rights to their Nutridoma line to Sigma. Sigma has had it on backorder now for months. It was supposed to be available this month, but now they have extended the backorder until the end of December, 2015. We are out and need it desperately. Has anyone else discovered a good alternative for use with HEK293 (adherent) serum-free culture? We use it in our antibody expressions.
Insulin-Transferrin-Selenium (ITS) is available from Thermo Fisher as a low serum or serum free substitute. The attached link could be useful.

I am cultivating my HEK293T cells in FreeStyle293 Expression Medium from Gibco and it works great. Cells are easy to harvest : few taps on the flasks and they detach, no need to use Trypsin-EDTA (I grow my cells on CellBind flasks by Corning). I tried the 293SFM ii medium by Gibco as well but this medium was inhibiting my transfections.

Just wanted to give you a heads up:
we tried Pro293™ from Lonza and FreeStyle™ 293 from Thermo Scientific in comparison to Nutridoma.
FreeStyle™293 from TS was comparable to Nutridoma (even a bit better) and we will continue to work with this Medium.
