Probably you already knew about those references, but I would suggest you start with the *classic work* of Davis & Hardy in Applied Microbiology (1973) (http://aem.asm.org/content/26/3/344.full.pdf).

Then you could also look at the Materials & Methods sections of the following articles (Modoc and other Flavoviruses):

Adams et al. Am. J. Trop. Med. Hyg 2013

Tesh et al. J Infect Dis 2005

Thanks, Joan. I appreciate your answer! I have indeed been referencing the methods from these publications, although I'm glad to know that I haven't been missing any. I will keep trying to replicate these protocols in hopes that it is just a small tweak or detail that I am missing.
