Can anyone compare/ contrast the Fastprep vs. Tissue Lyser grinders? https://www.qiagen.com/us/shop/automated-solutions/sample-disruption/tissuelyser-ii/ … and http://www.mpbio.com/fastprep5G.php?country=223)? I know I asked a similar question recently (https://www.researchgate.net/post/Which_tissue_homogenizer_to_use_for_plant_cell_disruption_and_DNA_extraction_fastprep_miniG_beadbeater_retsch_precylls_so_many/1) but I still cannot decide. I need high molecular weight DNA from plant leaf cells, so minimal shearing is important. Our old fastprep unfortunately shears the DNA too much- at least the gel makes the DNA look quite smeared.
Thanks for advice!
