I'm developing myself on fluid mechanics. I have wondered about the drag force effect on vehicle On-board tents. I did an analysis study and I achieved a value of about %11 increase in the drag force on the vehicle.
Clearly I want to be sure about this. That’s why I need your help.

Dear Osman,
it is difficult to say if increase of 11 % is to much or not. If I could see your video, I suggest to take into account the grid resolution close to the car body (should be relatively smooth in respect to the shape of the on-board tens) and the computational domain should be extended. I am afraid that the boundary conditions (inlet/outlet) can strongly influenced the flow around the body car.

First of all, thank you very much. I will consider suggestions. I should develop myself as an ANSYS Designmodeller and calculate the drag force by considering what you say. You said it is difficult for the difference. If you may answer How should I road for calculate the effect of drag force?

I think the way of the calculation presented in the video on tube was basically correct. I expressed only some suggestions regarding the quality of the mesh closed to the details of your calculation (mostly car body a extra new on-board tens) and the problem with the flow around the car by boundary conditions. Additionally, you can study the effect of the turbulence models on the results. Please check it the Reynolds number of flows. I think that this two comments can help you to improve results. Generally, numerics is sometimes inaccurate in respect to values, but very good for the trend estimation just what you did when you compared the change of the body drag. I like this work which you have done. I whish you many success.
