i read about tumor marker and enjoy about its very important role in early diagnosis and help in assessment of therapy and recurrence probability,so i need to know if there is specific tumor marker for SCC effecting oral mucosa?
So far, there is no tumour marker that can be connected to SCC anywhere in the body nor for all head and neck tumours with other histo-pathological variants. Moreover, current tumour markers are not approved to be used alone neither for diagnosis nor monitoring recurrence, due to their low sensitivity and specificity; which result in false negative and false positive diagnoses.
According to the crystal-clear responses by Luis and Khaled, I must certainly be wrong. However, in case of ..., I am nevertheless attaching here some articles that I estimate interesting in this domain. This certainly relates to the fact that I am co-authoring these articles ...

Robert
PS: I will not enter into the debate abut the term "specificity" ....
We have investigated value of SCC antigen in cervical cancer patients. It was many years ago. Reviewing the papers I've seen a lot of publications of implementation this marker for SCC head&neck cancer, including oral cavity.
