For molecular identification of species, the whole organism or tissue is stored in ethanol. Does this ethanol interferes in the extraction process of DNA or the extracted DNA? And if it does how to remove it?

Ethanol can interfere your DNA extraction if it remains in your sample prior you start extraction. in 1st step of extraction " cell break down" ethanol can precipitate some content of nucleic acid and so that will be discarded as pallet formed with cell debris. Even after precipitation or washing step with ethanol in any protocol, if ethanol remain a little at time of DNA dissolve in water or TE buffer, it will affect purity ratio of DNA and also in some DNA based techniques like PCR. So you must have to confirm that not even a little traces of ethanol should be present prior you starting DNA extraction.
You can air dry sample till it complete get dry and no ethanol traces remain. this drying process can be speed up by hot air oven at 40 to 60 degree Centigrade for some time. time is depends on tissue absorb capacity of ethanol. so if you incubating at 40 to 60 degree then you should check after every 10 to 20 minute for drying, so it will help you to avoid over drying and burning of your sample.
