I have a fairly large model and limited space. I know I can change different specs to make this simulation work but I wanted to have this "full" simulation to run and tried to restart feature of abaqus.

I noticed there is a different behavior of damage when restart file is used. I attached an image showing the behavior on 0.1197 step time for exact two simulations, i.e., exact model and exact boundary conditions. The left-hand side is the image from the original simulation without restart input file and the right-hand side is the restarted file. The restart increment number for right-hand side image is 332 but reaches the same step time on 441st increment. The noticeable differences are damage/crack behavior and the different increment sizes.

So, I was wondering if anyone had similar issues and if there is a solution for this kind of restart file which uses xfem.

Thanks,
