There are journals where there is no fee for publication of articles.
However, if a journal is charging publication fee, some part may be shared with reviewer to encourage researchers.

Why not that reviewer can recrives money. He losses his time for doing review.
generally, the reviewers are said to be honored by publishing their names at the end of the year. perhaps it is time that publishers consider paying reviewers.
Yes, the reviewer (spend his/her time and energy) can demand for token for reviewing of manuscript as Journals are demanding money for publishing the manuscript.
Reviewing papers is an honorary work. But, journals can reward monetary compensations if they want. I accept to review papers not for money but primarily to improve the state of papers that are publish in my field.
Charging more for a research journal to pay for review is a target if your goal is a "very short-lived" journal.

Definitely, Research is a science it is a passion, and the end product of a research must research the society.
But nowadays we couldn’t see such a noble cause or passion.

I think something like free access to that publisher's article for a month is the right approach. Nothing monetary, but it has a value and signals an appreciation of the work done.
For reviewing of manuscript we have a chance to understand the opinion & suggestive observation of & in such cases to ask for the token is not desirable .
This is my personal opinion
Review of manuscript should be an academic sacrificial service because we learn and develop further research skills by reviewing manuscripts. I enjoy reviewing manuscripts but we all know that the process is time consuming. What about the time value of money? The good news is that some reputable publishers (e.g NIJOTECH...) pay token after review process while some issue "outstanding reviewer certificate" (e.g Springer) after successful review. It all depends on policies which I think lies with the Editor-in-Chief in conjunction with the Publisher....
The policies of any publisher should be uniform for all. If the publisher is charging from the author, then there should be some reasonable payment to the reviewer otherwise not.
I think anything in free will not have value.
And as we are doing our job. This is not the social service. Publishers are taking processing charges which is many times very high then why don't we take fees for our service.
So I think it i nothing wrong in taking charges for reviewing.
