Murine cells can grow in both ordinary and Nude mice also, As i feel, there will not be any chance of rejection after Inoculation of NFS-60 cell lines in BALB/c,C57BL6 or albino mice and Yes i have tried B16F10 (murine metastatic melanoma ) with C57BL6 and BALB/c mice..it worked well in both.
@Milind Sagar and others : another question : how did u inject NFS-60 cells: Intraperitoneal ( IP) (because it is suspension cell line) or Subcutaneous to get solid tumor in flank or back of animals
It is very common in xenograft and syngenic mouse models studies.I haven't tried NFS-60,but i have experience with other cell lines. Procedure is same for murine and Human carcinoma cells. usually we use sterile 24 gauge short length needle for subcutaneous injection. Mix cells with serum free medium for subcut. injection. To increase the tumorigenicity, U can also mix cell+medium and matrigel (BD biosciences) in 1:1 ratio the total volume should not be more than 0.2 ml. be careful with matrigel as it gets solidified @ lower as wel as higher temperature. it will be liquified only at 4"C. so keep cells, syringe set and matrigel in ice, keep mouse and everything ready, mix matrigel and cells just before injection.
Go through some xenograft protocols or Vedio sites(http://www.jove.com/) for better idea.
