Does anyone know where to obtain pure, 1-10 gram quantities of DNA?
Lots of PCRs, or perhaps just bulk DNA purification from cells come to mind, but I was hoping to get pure, controlled sequences of DNA (long repeats are fine, such as CCG, GCG, ATA, etc) in bulk. Any suggestions?
if it does not have to be human then buy a liver from the butcher and mash it and phenol extract the dna. If you work in a hospital with a cancer clinic then some patients with over production of white cells have plasmapheresis to remove the white cells and the plasma is put back in and these can be a very good source of dna. Depending on the law locally collecting used clinical samples post analysis would give plenty but not very useful for amplification standards of variable sequences perhaps
Agree with Paul. liver is a very good source. Else If exclusively human/animal gDNA is not the requirement, then you can extract DNA from sufficient quantity of tender plant leaf. No critical legal issues with plant materials, as with human and animal materials.
