Andrew Kenneth Palmer Interviews, focus groups, and observation are the three primary methods for collecting data in qualitative research, and they give researchers with rich and profound insights.

When a research is culturally competent and sensitive, not every data collection is applicable. Since you said the respondents might not be comfortable using digital gadgets, you can involve them in a chat-like interview. Rather than directly asking them questions, you could combine art or secondary images as points of study. They would be happy to relate with you; and you might be surprised how much comfortable they would with a particular monument shown. Furthermore, it's more about getting the data needed, whether there are publications in regards that might not be the most essential. Why not use arts based approaches with all the participants?

I think that you talk about visual elicitation interviews. You can use any object or visual product in the interviews. It can be something found, already available or documents that are elicited, provoked. You can use drawings, collages, legos or any other respondent-generated imagery or researcher-produced visuals.
