The same efficiency can be achieved but you have to use twice the voltage. Also increase the volume of your culture & DNA mixture in 2mm cuvettes as compared to what you use in 1mm cuvettes.

I may add that consequently, the field strength that can be applied to a 1 mm cuvette is twice as large; this may be of advantage to transform some recalcitrant microorganisms. Furthermore, avoiding bubbles while filling the cuvettes is critical to prevent arcing. This is not always straightforward with the small volume of transformation mixture used with 1 mm cuvettes
