I am currently exploring the Petrel software and require some help with downloading any tutorial data or any seismic data for use within the application. It would be wonderful if someone could provide me a sample data so that I could explore various aspects of the software. I tried downloading SEG-Y data from various open source websites but that did not work as expected within the software. I am currently focusing on studying seismic data within Petrel.
Any help or any inputs would be greatly appreciated.
I guess the following and any other data can be used in petrel depending on the motive and data availability.
* 3D seismic volume in SEG-Y and/or ZGY format, 3D grids, 2D seismic lines in SEG-Y format, Fault models, Production data, Line data (XYZ data), Point data (XYZ data), Bitmaps, Well trajectories with logs, Simulation data and others.
I would suggest that you look for Norne and Volve datasets on any search engine.

To be realistic seismic datasets are confidential and not readily available except you approach some scientific bodies for research purposes.
However, there are some open source data set that you will find online, although they might have being altered in one form or the other
Also, I think some recent journals now have database where they store dataset of published work.

You can check on 2018 Equinor's data release (https://data-equinor-com.azurewebsites.net/) for Volve dataset is located in the central part of the North Sea.
You can also check out 2019 Equinor free open-source Library (https://dlisio.readthedocs.io) for well log dataset

Dear Shawn Dsouza SEG Wiki provides an open data for research. Here is the link: https://wiki.seg.org/wiki/Open_data you may find various kinds of seismic data (post-stack, VSP, AVO, etc). Also, if you have Petrel 2013, you may also find the Gulfaks dataset contained within the package. Good luck!
