Crystal Violet plates keep dying after DMSO treatment?

I have been trying to run crystal violet experiments for the past few months, but my cells keep dying immediately following the first treatment (even my DMSO control lane). I have tried increasing the number of cells and the [DMSO] is 0.1%, but I am not sure what is happening. In the past, I have had success with this experiment but inexplicably began having issues this summer. Any ideas what it could be?
