I have SEM image of my nanofiber hydrogel. they are like a network forming ellipse type pore. I want to determine say calculate pore size? i want step by step procedure to use imageJ software so that i can analyse my pore area
Set your scale bar and run down the values in Excel. Derive the formula for an ellipse and run all measured values into average volumes. Add it up and divide with total volume for entire sample for porous part. The main issue you will have is the possible interactive volumes that comes with open pore cells, cells with walls that are open to the surrounding cells. Here you need to differentiate between closed and open cell structures and show your micrographs in future published works.
