All commercial software are established by considering continuum mechanics so you need not to include these aspects in numerical analysis. During the calculation stage, the programme automatically verify continuum mechanics satisfy or not by verifying equilibrium and compatibility conditions in the analysis.. if not satisfying these conditions then show it an error..ok all the best..
i am just started to consider continuum mechanics to consider in my studies. I am currently working in bio-mechanics using finite element method. So can you please refer me some article/book/text, which can help me for better understanding of this topic.
Thanks for your complimentary wards..You can read the text book on 'Principles of continuum mechanics' authored by J.N.Reddy (2010) by Cambridge University press publication, you also read the text book named 'Concepts and applications of finite element analysis' authored by Robert D. Cook by John Wiley & Sons publications, 4th edition (2002)..ok all the best..
