based on hands-on experience, could you answer my question. I have made small trials for applying some factor to induce the production of some enzymes that biotransform a substrate of interest added to the culture medium . Fortunately, I obtained new large peaks in this small SCLAE 250 mL flask, in which I used 50 mL of culture medium. and when i reproduced the results in large scale i used the same medium volume to flask volume ratio, that is 200 mL CULTURE MEDIUM IN 1 liter flask. My question now if increase the medium volume to 400 mL to save the time and due to the limited shaker space, would that potentially affect the ability of streptomyces to produce these enzyme or generally did someone faced big change in metabolic profile due to such change in culture medium volume ?
