You are correct that citrate is similar to EDTA as they are both calcium chelators, but citrate is reversible and EDTA is not. This may or may not affect your results depending on the chemical constituents of your kit's reagents. I highly recommend calling technical support for the most accurate answers, they will know how their reagents will respond to EDTA plasma.
